Nick Barmy became the second player ever to move from Everton to Liverpool when he moved to the team he supported as a boy. Nick came to Anfield in the summer of '00 for 6 million pounds.

Barmby made the controversial move to Liverpool and has put in some very impressive first team perfoemances and has also scored some crucial goals for Liverpool. Most importantly, the goal he scored in Liverpool's 3-1 win over his former club, Everton. He went on to score more goals in Liverpool's treble winning season.

This season ('01-'02), Barmby hasn't played too many games for the 1st team due to injury and lack of match fitness. With the Liverpool midfield looking more and more predictable with Hamann, Gerrard, Smicer and Riise / Murphy, all ahead of Barmby, many believe that Barmby can't force his way into the side and could be on his way in the summer.

If Murphy were to live Liverpool, it would be a shame because he brings creativity to the side but he could still force his way back into the side. He can play on the left and right side of the midfield and is a fairly quick player.

He has represented England at international level and was once seen by Eriksson, to be the soltution to England's left side problems but due to injury, he didn't play in that position for that long and is now down in the pekking order for that position.

Abel Xavier followed Barmby to Liverpool which is the third time that a player has ever moved straight from Everton to Liverpool. It seems that Liverpool like stealing Everton's best players. Or at least we manage to transform their players, to quality players.
