| trish mackenzie. who is she? trish-the-dish was my alter ego in college. She wore a shorter-than-short mini skirt, had a parade of men (or were they mere boys?) who followed her wherever she went, and was on a constant quest to find the ever-elusive mr. right, as opposed to mr. right-now. she was a mediocre journalist (i am a far better writer than she'll ever be, haha) but had a definitive following (as evidenced by her fan mail) at capilano college. she upset a lot of feminists, but was equally hated and loved. she never named names in any of her columns, yet those involved always knew who she was referring to. few people knew of her true identity, so one never knew if they would read of their misadventures in the next issue of the newspaper or not. though her column "the way it is" only ran for one semester, college students across the campus seemed to relate to her misguided romantic escapades. Through stories such as "virgin with a vengeance" and "that's what friends are for" she described the life of a college student in the late 80's. Read her first story, the goodnight kiss here.
