Rock Climbing
Although I haven't had much time since I've been married, one of my favorite pastimes is rock
climbing. Here are pictures of me leading a climb at Draper's Bluff in Southern Illinois and my friend

Hiking and backpacking
If you haven't already figured it out, I love the outdoors. One of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors is
to simply take a hike. But, it's even better to strap a backpack on and go sleep in the middle of a
wilderness area far away from cars, roads, televisions, phones, and all the other annoyances of
everyday life. Here's are pictures of me standing on top of Chimney Tops Mountain in the Smokey
Mountain National Park, standing near cliff's edge at Rim Rock in Southern Illinois, and standing in
an unnamed spot in Sedona, AZ.
Road Tripping
I love nothing more than to hop in a car and take off across the county. My favorite destinations
include the southwestern U.S., California, and Montana. During the summer of 2004, I purchased a
1974 Volkswagon Campmobile (a.k.a VW Bus) to make road trips even more exciting. It came with
the name Julius (it's orange - Orange Julius). Here are pictures of the bus at the previous owner's
place of work in Oklahoma City, OK and at a reservoir I stopped at in the Appalachian Mountains in
Pennsylvania during a road trip back from Vermont, and at my wife's parents' lake.
