The Lost Cats of Neverland
RPG Forum

This idea was thought up by me, and so now I've got a reason to create a forum now, whohoo! The story is that of "The Adventures of Peter and Wendy", or simply "Peter Pan." I'm also basing our story on Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates, great show. Miss it already. I've been kinda fixated on playing the feline beings of the musical CATS,(Thanks to Whimsical Cat.) so hince my own combination. This adventure will hopefully lead to swashbuckling pirates, flying lost cats, troublesome fairies, tracking indians, and other great stuff on the large isle of Neverland.

"Second star to the right, and straight on til morning."
(Yes, I've been told Capt. Kirk said it also,
but it's straight from the book Peter Pan!)

Additional Characters

The Furfolk -These underwater mermaid/merman felines now have their own character page!

THE Crocodile-Creature of Neverland-Large crocodile with a taste for Capt. Hook, it swallowed a clock fortunately for him. There's bound to be some points in the story where, maybe the clock stops. Might be a quest to get the clock rewound and put back in the croc.- Razzle

Basil (whatever you do: don't ask his full name!)-Creature of Neverland- is a sandy-brown colored rabbit that is anthro-type like the cats. Personality-wise he is friendly, carefree, loves to laugh, and loves to eat...so it's only fitting that he be great friends with the Lost Cats. Also a good cook and weapon maker, he makes his own trouble with the local pirates by stealing. Food, mostly. He prefers to live the solitary life in his own little den deep in the woods, but never turns down the chance for a good party, feast, or the opportunity to show off and make a complete fool of himself.-Velvedere

Fairies and their (cough..laugh) owners...
In the order I receive their descriptions.

Pouncival >^-.-^< Tinkerbell - A rather plain fairy who watches over most of the lostboys but always considers herself Pounce's fairy. She has shoulder length wavy bright strawberry blonde red hair, that she always tops off with a flower tailored into a hat. She has simple white butterfly wings and her outift is a comfortable light purple blouse and leggings that look tattered with use, but Tink considers it a fashion. Her job is that of one who fiddles with metal things particularly pots and pans, but her specialty seems to be hovering near Pouncival most the time.

Rum Tum Tugger >^-.-^< Horsefeathers - An odd breed of fairy, being an anthro-equine. He has an all pale white colored coat of horsefur, a scruffy white feathered tail and matching mane which combs up over his forehead giving him a goofy look. His whole body is that of an anthro pony-horse with grey hooves, except his arms which have hands with fingers. He swoops about with strange silver and grey feathered wings, while most fairies have butterfly or dragonfly wings, but he doesn't care if he is made fun of. His attitude is somewhat shy because of his appearance, yet he knows how to laugh at himself, and loves to play, his favorite place to be when not with Tugger, is at the Small Monday Island Fair. He regards Tugger as a friend, because he spoils him with lots of small trinkets and sneaks him food from dinner.

Munkustrap >^-.-^< Firjak - He is a quiet male fairy with shoulder-length silver hair and grasshopper-type wings. He wears a small tunic made of woven pine needles and an acorn top as a cap on his head. His profession is mostly watching out for conifer trees, or, more specifically, collecting pine sap, which is used to make syrup, bowstrings, wax, and a number of other things. He's quiet and not very talkative, and his usual way of communicating is whispering in peoples' ears and flicking his squirrel tail to display his mood. He really likes Munkustrap, mostly because the cat supplies him with honey, which he loves.

Cassandra >^-.-^< Sugarplum - She is small and sweet. Yet on occasions she is mischievous. She has long violet colored hair embedded with small yellow roses. She is wearing an outfit similar to Tinkerbell's except it's the color of her hair. She despises Tinkerbell for she is jealous that she has such a cute owner.

Mistoffelees >^-.-^< Starflower - Pure black with silvery eyes and silvery wings. Looks like a little cat actually, complete with tail to steer with. Tries very hard (sometimes) to keep Misto out of trouble but is very funloving.

Rumpleteazer >^-.-^< Tuxette - is another cat-fairy. Is white with black wings and black eyes. This one's a prankster though, gets Rumple into lots of troublesome situations.

Tumblebrutus >^-.-^< Aurea - Like her name, everything about this little female fairy seems to be gold-related. Her tiny toga-like dress sparkles with gold dust, and her transparent butterfly wings have a definate golden tint. Her hair is long and blonde, so long she can braid it around her forehead and still have enough to reach her shoulder blades. Despite being a well-behaved little meek paint collector (she 'takes' colors from nature to make things, like clothes and paints), her voice is very beautiful when she sings.

Things to Note:
* must be one or the other, not both. As Growltiger would be a pirate, and Griddlebone would be a pirate lass, which leaves Jellylorum and Asparagus available, to be lost children if they so choose, but not both.
^ the two twins should probably be played by the same person. In the book they're both boys, but things change, especially when you're a Jellicle Cat. :::grinz:::
~ Actually the name of the tribe in the book is Piccaninnies. I thought I would toss in a play on it, with the word 'cat' in it.
Characters in (parentheses) are who the cat takes after in the book.
& Subject to change during the story. There is an ongoing arguement between these two lost cats, of who deserves to be second in command. To start, Munkus is second in command only to Pan, while Tugger is third. Things happen and if Pan changes his mind, Tugger may have his turn at second in command, only in turn to maybe be demoted back down to third. Taking command is only done if Pan is not around to lead, this might be because he is off elsewhere having adventures.

Character possibilities

The Lost Cat Children, Both boys and girls. (Even if girls are smarter to not fall out of their perambulators.<crib>) All shall be around the young age of 9-11. Example :Old Deuteronomy would be just Deuteronomy, IF he were to be a lost child. They aren't very well schooled, although the girls might play school, while the boys tend to be too anxious for adventure. In the book, Wendy tries to teach the boys. The boys use wooden swords cut from a special wood that regenerates itself when sliced by a sword, so it is a skill to craft such weapons.

Pirates, Captain Growltiger Hook, Bosun Skimbleshanks and many crooked ruffians said to have sailed the seven seas. Weapons might include Cutlasses, Rapiers, or even the occasional Scimitar.

Indians, not to stereotype (Being a native american myself), but going along with the story. There's the Chief Deuteronomy and princess Sillabub Tiger Lily.We will jump to the point in the story, where the indians are already befriended by the lost children. Although some members are allowed to mistrust the children still. And whomever plays Tiger Lily, expect to be kidnapped numerous times. I will allow them to hunt/fight even if they are female, I don't want to restrict their role-playing possibilities.

Creatures of Neverland, From the ticking crocodile to Wendy's whelp (wolf cub), to the Neverbird, on to many spectacular creatures. If you have ideas for one, please see me with a descript of it. Some might just be temporary also, so that we can make the storyline exciting and then have them disappear. We shall see. Most of these will not be able to talk as they are creatures, but there are exceptions, once again, see me. Other possibilities brought up to me, talking anthro creatures, could be fine by me.

Fairies, tiny hand sized beings with wings, that come in all sorts of appearances. They are to be considered pesky most of the time, and tend to tweak the noses of sleeping lost boys.. er cats. Tinkerbell might still be around. Actually I think I'm going to make it so that each lost cat (not pirates or indians) has his/her own fairy. (Okay, I will make the occasional exception, with some of the indians I will allow to have fairies, Just not all of them!) It won't count as an extra character, but you can make it can interact like one, but it should stay within bounds of their cat. Fairies can/will be used as sources of fairydust for flying, for relaying messages to others, or telling gossipy legends that might lead to adventure, as fairies know alot, but they tend to stretch the truth to their own accord, especially when the lost children are listening. They don't always have to follow your characters, in fact they rarely ever will, on their own will, they might sleep away the day, and only come out while the lostboys sleep. Pirates will not have fairies, unless they catch them, and even then fairies don't do well in jars. And remember not believing in fairies is a very serious offense, because it could cost a fairy their life.

As for naming your fairies (or actually the fairy comes with its name, the children don't name them), please think fairy. Names of flowers combined with another word usually come out nice. Usually sugar sweet names of any kind will do. Tinkerbell was so named, because she is a tinker (fixer of pots and pans). A Midsummer Night's Dream had fairies, Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth (or Mote), and Mustardseed.

Furfolk-Mermaids/Mermen also available, must be feline like, but not necessarily a CATS character. In fact I'll let folks make up furfolk as additional characters, not included in their character limit. The mermaids are usually not very friendly to the lost cats/children, except for Pouncival, who usually plays his pan pipes for them. I would prefer if you didn't just play a merfolk only, and would choose at least one other character.

So the way this works is you choose a CATS' character, and place them as one of the characters from the book. Have I repeated myself yet?
