Spread 5. The Witches Clock
This spread is designed to help provide a time line for the completion of an on going problem. Card 1 shows the querents current position with card 2 representing a current obstacle or factor.
Cards 3 to 8 show the start of the problem, and what has occurred up to present day, with card 8 being current to card 1, and as such should be related to card 1 when explained.
Once you have gone through these 6 cards, ask the querent how long the period described lasted for. This time line will help in establishing a time for the completion or fulfilment of the problem in question.
Cards 9 to 14 show the future progression of the problem till card 14 when fulfilment is obtained, whether for good or bad. Each card is progressively more distant into the future, with any inverted cards being warnings of rough patches to come.
Card 15 is a floating card, which represents external influences or persons, who will be available to aid and support the querent. If inverted it represents a negative influence.
The main skill in the witches clock comes from being able to relate the time line obtained from cards 3-8 with the second half of the clock. As a general rule, Major Arcana are almost instantaneous in effect, meaning that the remaining cards represent the full time line. Court cards, as the royalty of the Minor Arcana, are the next fastest, with the more regal being faster than the pages. The rest of the minor arcana take longer, with the aces being the next fastest, then the 2's, 3's 4's etc. This reflects the fact that the close to 10 you get, the further done a path of completion you are, so a 10 will be the longest period.
Working on this basis, try and relate in with the querents offered knowledge the time scale, and then apply the same basis to cards 9-14 to give a projection of roughly when the fulfilment will occur
