If you want to know how to breed rare, special Chocobos, you'll need info from the Chocobo Sage. Finding his isn't as hard as people say. Once you get the Highwind, go to the Northern Continent( the snowy one) and fly around. In about the middle of the continent, is a house with a small green patch around it. Land on the grass and go in. I believe that, on the first time, he won't remember anything. When he says "that's all I remember", or something, go back to the Highwind and fly around. Go get into some fights, maybe visit a town, etc. and go back to the Sage after a few minutes. He should remember something. Keep doing this, and keep going back. Eventually, he'll remember everything.
Once he's told you everything, go back to the main continent. Go to the Chocobo farm. Inside the barn is a little girl; talk to her. Tell her your info from the Sage, and she'll record it. Ask her to, and she'll read it back to you. There ya go, that's the Chocobo Sage AND how to breed specials!
