When the nurses saw that Greg was conscious they immediately began taking tests while another nurse ran to call the doctor to let him know of the update of Greg's condition.
Nick heard all the commotion around him and woke up instantly.
He turned and saw Greg's smile, he literally jumped for joy.
The nurses had to remind him that he was in a hospital, then they asked him to leave the room so that they could finish looking Greg over.
Nick left and immediately went and called Greg's mom and sister. They
screamed over the phone and said they were on there way.
Nick asked them to bring Greg some of the good stuff to drink he would need it. They would stop and get breakfast for the three of them on the way to the hospital.
Nick turned to look into Greg's room but the nurses were still examining him.
His next call was to Gil to let him and everyone know Greg's status.
Nick for some reason got Catherine when he tried Gil. It turns out they
were working a case together.
She said they all had just got off shift and they had planned to come up to the hospital anyway. Now they would be there sooner knowing that Greg was awake. She said they would be there within the hour. Nick explained that the doctor was on the way to examine Greg and the nurses told him to stay away till the doctor came in.
Catherine didn't like that one bit.
She told Nick not to worry that they would straighten out the nurses when they got there.
Nick laughed and hung up knowing that he had done the best he could do.
Within a half an hour the hospital was flooded with well wishers wanting to see Greg.
This included the whole CSI team including night shift lab personnel, Jim Brass and David and Doc Robbins.
Also before they had arrived Greg's mom and sister had got there and gave Nick his breakfast and told him to go eat something before he fell over with exhaustion. Gil who had come in following them told him the same thing. Catherine took him and his breakfast down to the cafeteria.
Nick started to say something but everyone assembled gave him a dirty look. This made him and Catherine run for cover laughing, which felt real good at that point.
They went down the cafeteria and Nick opened the bag that Greg's mom had brought.
Catherine began to laugh as she saw everything Nick began pulling out of the bag.
"They must have thought I hadn't eaten in days. Please Cath help me finish all this delicious food, I can't possibly eat it all." Nick asked laughing.
"Sure thing gimme a fork I will dig into this kind a food anytime."
Catherine answered.
They both spent an enjoyable time eating and commiserating about what happened at CSI after Nick had left.
When they finished eating the delicious food they went back up to the floor. When they got there everyone was in the waiting area.
"What's everyone doing here?" Catherine asked.
"The doctor finally got here they had to drag him off the tenth tee! Early morning tee off you know." Brass scowled.
"Actually Jim tell him the truth you had the PD drag him off the tenth tee. Thank you by the way." Emily answered and went over and gave Jim a kiss to the cheek.
Everyone began to howl Jim went beet red.
"So did the nurses say anything about Greg before the doctor arrived?" Nick questioned.
"Nope not a thing they clammed up and told us to wait here or we would escorted of the hospital grounds." Warrick said distastefully.
Just then Dr. Watkins came into the waiting room.
"Dr. how is my son is he going to be okay?" Emily cried.
