The group stood watching the ambulance leave headquarters from the parking lot.
Gil turned to Catherine and Sara who had just come back at the end of the excitement.
"Greg collapsed in the lab tonight, and Nick went with him to the hospital because they have power of attorney for each other for personal care and both his sister and mother live out of state." Gil explained to the newcomers.
"Is Greg okay? Do they know what happened to him?" Catherine asked.
"Well Doc examined him before the EMT's left and they did tests on him too but the good thing they have ruled out is any problems with his heart so that is good news at least. Nick had also said that Greg had been feeling cold in bed the last couple of nights so that may have something to do with it too." Gil told them.
"Well I need to get in touch with Greg's family. Catherine and Warrick seal off the lab and check to see if there is anything out of the ordinary. Sara Get to Desert Palms and stay with Nick he will need some support right now. Doc I'll call you when I hear anything thanks again to you and David for all the help tonight." Gil announced as he made his way back to his office.
The teams all scattered to their respective assignments.
Sara got to Desert Palm's and found Nick sitting in the emergency room hands clenched and looking scared.
"Nick why aren't you with Greg inside?" Sara wondered worriedly.
"The doctor's won't let me because I am not a direct family member even though I showed them the POA forms." Nick answered resignedly.
Nick looked at Sara and asked "Do you know if Gil got a hold of Greg's mom and Sister?"
"Yes he did and they are on there way here now. They should have been in touch with the doctor's already I think. They said they were going to call the hospital before they left for Vegas. They were going to catch the red-eye and Brass was going to meet them at the airport to bring them directly here." Sara told Nick.
Nick sat back in the chair and let out a deep sigh of relief.
"That's good news at least thanks for all the help, Greg and I really
appreciate it a lot." Nick cried tears running down his face.
Sara took Nick into her arms and he let loose with the tears on her
shoulder.
"Thanks Sara I needed that." Nick sighed, "I am going to get cleaned up yell for me if the doctor's come out will ya?"
"Sure Nick and I will get us both coffees while your gone, the machine is right there." Sara pointed.
Nick got up and went into the washroom while Sara got them both a drink.
When Nick came out Sara gave him his coffee and they sat there to wait till they heard news from the doctor.
About an hour later the rest of the team came into emergency with Greg's family.
"Have you heard anything from the Doctor's Nick?" Mrs. Sander's asked.
"No ma'am, neither of us has heard any news at all." Nick explained, as he gave Emily Sanders a hug.
"Well I am going to take care of that right now; you just wait right here." Emily ran over to the nurse and told her she wanted to see the doctor right now.
Brass and Catherine went down to the cafeteria and got the whole group coffees because as she put it the stuff from that machine would kill you faster than anything else.
By the time they came back the doctor finally came out and told the group what he new as of now.
"We're running a cat scan to figure out what the problem with his balance is because none of the regular tests have shown what the problem is and also we think and this will be proven with other tests that he has pneumonia as well. The main worry right now is the balance issue." Dr. Watkins told the group before him.
"Doctor you think that he will be okay?" Mary Sanders asked.
