About our Company

Whack'em Pest Control employs 50 service technicians and a fleet of 30 trucks to meet the needs of the greater Portland Oregon area. Founded in 1989, our company has grown from two guys and a truck to what it is today. We employ a full service method to rid you of your unwanted pests.

Documentation

A. The intent and purpose of this website was to showcase my skills as a web-author. It surrounds a fictional business but incorporates all of the important aspects of web-design. In creating the site, I followed the milestones as I thought about what I wanted the site to be about. I then built the shell of the site and added bits and pieces as the weeks of the class went on.

B. I made the specific design choices that I did because I wanted to create a site that was easy to navigate and easy to read. I incorporated as much of the peer feedback that I could, which led to subtle changes in spacing. I chose to go with a bit of a gray background, as I felt that the white background was too bright. I ultimately chose to go with a sans-serif font for the entire site, as I felt that it lends itself well to legibility.

C. In the future, this website could easily be converted to service the needs of any interest, and so it might. With more time and resources, I think I could have made some design changes that might have incorporated some pop-up style windows, or perhaps some sliding content. The purpose of any additional content would merely be for adding to the user experience, making it easier for the user to navigate the site.
