Burried Treasure
(Note: Because someone liked this poem, she gave
Herbert to me.  That is the real buried treasure
Just two-hundred more pages, I can do it,
I'm almost done with this stupid book.
Why was it this one, the book I had to get?
It's like hanging on a sharp and pointy hook.

Treasure Island, sounds exciting,
But let me tell you, it is NOT.
They really don't get any more boring,
An oxymoron is the book that I brought.

Why must the author use such big words?
And it's written in Old English, for heavens sake!
All the main characters are geeks and nerds,
I have to struggle just to stay awake.

There was a big list, why did I have to pick this story?
There were many smaller, shorter ones that I could have picked.
Did I do it for the fun or for the fame and glory?
Or maybe I was cruelly tricked!

Only one-hundred more pages; that's not so bad,
And I guess it is starting to get better.
When I'm done with this I will be glad,
I'm getting closer with every letter!

Hey, what's this?  They've found the treasure,
Who knew it was buried in there!
It is amazing, this book gives me pleasure,
I guess God had answered my prayer.

I am turning the page to four-hundred-and-three,
And they're sailing back home to Britain.
It is quite obvious, as you can see,
That this is one of the better books written.

This book was okay, I do not deny it,
Even if the wording was queer.
I just hope that my next book I will also not quit,
For it's the Little Prince that I now fear!
