| I really don't normally update twice in a week. I do like to think that I have something better to do than update a site that nobody reads, but sometimes something stupid happens and then I feel an obligation to point out why it's stupid. Check out Nintendo's new console, which is hitting shelves for Christmas this year. No, don't worry, it's not replacing the awesome Gamecube, which is awesome. It's a portable system, but it's not replacing the GBA, either. You see, according to the Big N, the new Nintendo DS is so unique that it can coexist with the other two... you know, the same way that the Virtual Boy coexisted with the SNES and the old school gray Game Boy. So what does this mysterious DS stand for? Dual Screen. Yeah that's right. A console that has 2 screens so there can be the actual game on one and then like... a map, or a close-up of the action on the other. This will let you refer to the view you want simply by looking at the preferred screen. Both screens run at the same time so you'll always be able to look from one to the other. Too bad you could easily do that with the GBA. Observe: |

| Notice how that even though a GBA is one screen, I can brilliantly simulate the appearance of two! I like to call it the "Split Screen". Both the map screen and the action all on one! And not only that, if you were playing a game that benefits more from one big screen, you can remove the other one all together! It's great because a lot of gamers already own one of these, so they won't have to spend $100s on another piece of hardware. Another advantage is that you don't have to carry around two portable systems made by the same damn company! What's up with this kind of garbage? This comapny is soley responsible for abominations like the Virtual Boy, the 64DD, and the XBox. (I think they made that one). Two screens sounds like a semi-interesting gimmick but that's all it is. There's no way having this trash is going to keep a game more fast-paced, especially for a portable system. At least if you were playing with two TV screens a spectator could look at the other one... but if you're playing a portable by yourself... having two screens will just mess up your focus. |

| People will buy the Nintendo DS (er... I'm hoping this one is like the rest of my pages and doesn't get any hits) | ||||||||||||
