Girls' House ~ Boys' House ~ Library ~ Get to Know Us ~ Discussions ~ Lounge ~ Contacts ~ Rules |

|
These are the rules for the authors of Greenwich Village. If they are not followed.... heads will roll. Not really. They're pretty simple, actually. I just ask that you follow them! |
NEW RULE > ~ People new to the Newsieverse are allowed one character in the house. I don't mean to be a hard-ass, I just want to see how you do with one character before I allow more.
NEW RULE > ~ You are allowed no more than 3 characters in the house at a time. (This rule does not generally apply to seasoned veterans of the Newsieverse.) This number may be lowered or upped, depending on your dedication and participation.
~ I will not normally hold check-ins. It is your job to remain active. I will not be your mother and tell you that you must sign in. (This may change soon, however.)
~ If you DO wish to remain active, you will participate in RP's. I HIGHLY suggest poking your head into the chat room (either the Lounge or an AIM chat room) for at least a half hour every 2 weeks.
~ If after 3 weeks I have seen that you have not made an appearance, I will email you regarding your absence. If I do not receive word back, I will remove your character.
~ I only have this rule because I feel that RP's are more important than stories. If there are no RP's, there can be no inspiration for stories involving other members of the house. Granted, stories are always welcome, though in GV, they are not specifically required (yet.)
~ When you are RP'ing, please keep the swearing to a minimum. Now, I know that most of us are over 16, but come on. It's not really necessary. Plus, we don't know who may be reading the transcriptions. A few mild words may be used, but like I said, keep it to a minimum. If you can't follow this simple rule, well... dude, just follow it. It's not that hard!
~ Please respect the other girls. I guess that one just goes without saying. Respect their ideas, plot lines, etc. Try to be understanding of newbies to the Newsieverse.
~ Somewhere along those lines, comes another thing. What is said in the RP, stays in the RP. This is all fiction. Nobody is trying or meaning to offend others. What someone makes their character do, it's their character doing the action, not the person. Please don't take offense if one of their characters 'breaks up' with yours. I think you know what I mean.
~Everybody talks OOC (Out Of Character) during the RPs. But if somebody starts something difficult OOC, with a comment or suggestion, some people can take that very personally. If the OOC comments start to become more and more personal, and not about the RP or the characters being played, whoever is involved needs to go in another IM window and work it out. Something like this CAN, MIGHT, and WILL MOST LIKELY affect the other RPers, causing the RP to be ruined altogether.
~ I think this next rule also goes without saying - NO PLAGIARIZING!!!!! A - it's not nice, and B - IT'S AGAINST THE FRIGGIN LAW!!!! So just don't do it!!
Here is a link to the Union Rules, also. You must also follow these rules.
