For the first project, we had to built a device which utilizes three apparati to move three balls, all of which must stop moving at the end of one minute. The entire device must fit in a 1'x1'x1' cube. For the first apparatus, we used water buoyancy to move a ball down a ramp. Then we used an electric fan to propell the blades of the second apparaturs. The blades pushed the second ball down three concentric levels. The second ball triggers a trap door which releases the third ball down a tall structure with descending ramps.
Our project was successful in that all the three balls went through the apparati without getting stuck. However, the timing was slightly off as the entire process took only 36 seconds. Oops. |
