Welcome to 2005....
Saturday, Jan. 1st 2005, New Years Day

Welcome everyone to the year 2005 and another year of useless ranting and raving here at Off the Beaten Path!  If some of you are just joining me, I strongly suggest you go back to the index page and start from there...There is nothing particulary interesting here.  I am nobody special.  I have no writing talent, although I do love to write short stories and poetry.  This is just the journal of a "regular" person.

I often wonder about people who read other peoples on-line journals.  I did it for a short time and realized how boring my life is, and promptly stopped.  My life sux alot of the time, and often I don't log on and update unless I'm really pissed off or sad about something.  I may go a month or two without even updating it.....If you have any particular questions you would like me to answer, please feel free to either post on the message board (on the contents page) or
e-mail me.  I will reply here on the blog.

Now...on to other stuff:
It is New Years Day.  What did I do last night you are wondering?  Slept.  I'm lame.  Actually, I became ill around 3:30 in the afternoon, threw-up everything I had eaten around 6:30 and went to bed at 7:30.  I had a *fun* evening planned out....I guess I'll do that tonight ;P  I had put the silk sheets on the king size bed, laid out my fire-engine red nighty with the kimono type housecoat.  I had candles ready, I had a bottle of Asti Spumanti chilled and ready to go.  Instead my hubby brought home pizza.  I took two bites, puked again, and then went to bed to read Small Gods by Terry Pratchett.  I've read it before, but I'm reading it again.

Speaking of books.  I'm going to re-read The Goblet of Fire (JK Rowling) before the movie is released this summer.  I give all the HP movies an A+!  I must admit though, that I really didn't like all the "black outs" the new director put in Prisoner of Azkaban...there was only one instance when I thought it was appropriate.

Speaking of movies...I've seen a few over the past few months:

~Sponge Bob Square Pants: sucked, not a single kid in the theather laughed.
~National Treasure: LOVED IT!!!  I must confess I have never been interested in history, this movie actually made me want to learn about EVERYTHING.  I even read the Constitution, which sadly I had never done.  I know, I know, shame on me.  I even have a copy of it framed and hanging not 30 feet away from me....
~Stepford Wives: This movie was ok, it will be one I definately wish I'd waited to see on HBO instead of forking over $3.99 to Direct TV.
~Shaun of the Dead: OMG!  That was funny :D

Gosh, I know I've seen more....can't think of them at the moment.

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
