MORE news from around the club

Dragons kill off Port in semi - earn spot in the Grand Final!!!
With Greenacres and Port Adelaide both fielding their "A teams" for the semi final, there could only be one team better on the day - and that was the winner.  And the Dragons well and truly deserved this win, their ferocious tackling, team play and never give up attitude propelling the team into their first ever grand final.  It's been an amazing effort by the club this season, ranging from our ever supportive President Chris Nicholls, to our coaches Steve Baxter & John Leicester, Phil our runner, Lloydie at training, Marie our trainer, Mama Bulldog, Pippy's mum, Steve in the United States - and the 26 girls putting their hand up each week to fight for a spot in the green and the black.  We deserve this girls! Good Luck in the Grand Final!  JOG IT OUT YOU DRAGONS!!!

Dragons gain edge on Port Adelaide

This time with a convincing win against the out of form Port Adelaide, the Dragons strengthened their chances of a finals appearance.  The team dug deep in the last quarter tackling hard and using the ball very well.  Well done to the girls in a very deserved win.  Keep hitting the training track!

Roos over run Dragons at Home

It was a close and exciting display of football for both players and spectators on Sunday. With the Roos fighting hard for a win on home soil, and the Dragons eager to back up last weeks game – it was destined to be a great tussle. The first quarter saw the Dragons jump out of the blocks early, however the Roos just couldn’t be shaken all day, and despite a last quarter fight back getting the Dragons within a goal, the Roos were simply magnificently on the day and stood up when they needed to in a much deserved win. Bad luck to the Dragons on this occasion, and with all girls contributing on the training track this week, hopefully we can gear up for next weeks game again Port at Woodville.

Dragons defeat Port at Alberton

With their kicking inaccuracy almost costing them the game on Sunday, the Dragons fought back in last quarter to regain the lead in the dying minutes.
Having scored only 10 individual points up until half time, the Dragons should of had the opposition well and truly buried at half time. With the team also facing many serious injury woes and 3 key players missing, the coaching staff certainly had their work cut out for them. Despite their lack of fitness and run, the Dragons proved that at the end of the day - overall voice and team work is an integral formula and is what pushed them over the line in a memorable win at at Alberton Oval against the much fancied Port.

New Coaching Reshuffle

A mid-season resignation from Space, saw a players father John Liecester and State coach Steve Baxter, step in to be interim coaches.  Their work ethics and game day approach have already shown reward.  We welcome John & Steve to the club and hope they enjoy the challenges ahead.
