| Name: Dar'en Species: Human Age: 22 Height: 5'8" Build: Dar'en has one of those builds where his muscles are well defined, but they always look sort of... tightly wound, or something. Think crossing a ballet dancer with a long-distance runner. He's thin, though. His shoulders are fairly broad in comparisoon to his hips, and his collarbone is very pronounced. Personality and Such: Have you ever met one of those people that think they're super smart and so clever and so much more intelligent than everyone around them, and 'cover it up' by acting all mock-humble, but really, everyone just sees clear through their plans and thinks they're an idiot? Yeah, that's kind of what Dar'en is like. He's not good at reading people, but of course, he thinks he's great it. That said, he is good at reading crowds, and good at getting crowds to follow him. This is one of the reasons that Quare keeps him on as an immediate subordinate. In regards to Quare, he thinks that he is using Quare to attain a position of power. Quare, on the other hand, finds this belief of Dar'en's absolutely hilarious, and so he plays along. Dar'en is useful as a military commander, though -- people follow him, and he's just foolhardy enough to charge into the most dangerous situations without fear. (However, if he actually begins to realize that he might die? Yeah, he'll leave. He thinks keeping himself alive is a very important priority.) In terms of fighting, he much prefers to get in as close as possible to his opponents; he's much better that way. (Note that his weaponry is all geared towards extreme close-range fighting -- Dagger, short sword and bladed guantlet.) The guantlet he wears is actually a family heirloom, the Wyvern on it being a crest of his family from a long, long, time ago, when his family had been an important one. His father is dead, and his mother is alive, though very, very sick. He claims that he fights in order that he can support her, and while he does send portions of his earnings back to his mother, he doesn't really care about her. He fights because he likes it, and because it was an excuse to leave his mother for several years (He hasn't been home since he was seventeen). (His mother had never been the one to raise him, you see, and when she got ill, he found the demands she placed upon him very smothering.) Dar'en is EXTREMELY stubborn, though not to his superiors (He wants to keep on their good sides.) Sexually, Dar'en is masochistic, though... Not nerely as masochistic as he believes he is, if that makes sense. Oh, and let me emphasize something here: Dar'en's hair is GREY. Not silver, grey. It went grey when he was about twenty, and not for any unnatural reason; it just happened early. Prior to this, he had had darkish dirty-blond hair. References: 1 |
