Petra Wagner is 32 years old and has been a VDH-member since 1977.

She achieved her first SchH 1 with her first dog (a German Shepherd she raised from a pup) in 1979.  Until 1996 Petra trained only her own dogs to SchH 3: two German Shepherds and a Belgian Shepherd (Malinois). With her Malinois, "Jack vom Löwenfels", she developed a passion for national competitions. Petra and Jack managed 31 SchH 3 trials; they achieved four qualifications for the regional championship and two qualifications for the German championship for working dogs.

In 1996 she started to train shepherds for renowned breeders and - last but not least - she has become an instructor of the province Hessen in "DMC" (German Malinois club) in 1998.

In sum she has presented 14 dogs in different trial levels. Jack' s successor, the Malinios "Can vom Stapper Weg" was 18 months old, when he achieved his first SchH 1. He got 292 points in all. With Martin Burkhard' s support Petra and Can achieved 100 points in protection. In March 1999 they got 288 points in SchH 2. Only five weaks later they managed SchH3 with 281 points. They achieved this level during a qualification trial for the regional champignonship. This is absolutely unusal, because the average starter first tries to manage some SchH 3 trials in his or other clubs. This result led to the third place. In the two following weeks they achieved 293 points twice. These three results are more than enough to reach the qualification for the regional champignonship (25. and 26. August ). The best 40 competitiors in the region "HSVRM", coming from nearly 100 clubs, will start there.

Can will be trained and presented during the seminar in September.

Photo above shows Petra with a few of the trophies she has earned.

Martin Burkhard is 28 years old and has been a VDH-member since 1990. He is one of the best helpers in the national association.

In 1992 he got his first dog, a Rottweiler, and he trained him to SchH 3.  In 1995 he participated in the regional championship for Rottweilers and up to 1998 he achieved SchH 3 with two other Rottweilers.

In 1996 he started working with Malinois and trained two of them to SchH3. It only took him two years to do so. With one of them, Sam, he qualified for the regional championship last year.

Martin' s workstyle as a helper is characterized as hard but absolutely fair. In two successive years his achievements were outstanding: During this period he helped five dogs and their owners to successful participation in the regional championship (they were members in the same club). Six dogs qualified for the German championship for working dogs.

The dogs Martin has worked with make a good impression wherever and whenever they perform. Martin isn`t only interested in "Schutzhundesport", he developed a passion for ring sports as well. In Germany ring sport isn´t practiced much; if you want to train, you must travel extensively throughout Europe. In August, Martin will meet Petra during the regional championship, because Sam also qualified. (read Petra´s profile, if you want further information)

He will bring Sam to the seminar to demonstrate his training and presentation method.
