Greg Cox is currently studying music composition and psychology at the University of Maryland. Born and raised in the Washington, D.C., area, he began playing piano at the age of five. When he came to high school, Greg began playing jazz in various capacities, opening his mind to the world of composition. He has since participated in the Young Composers' Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Margaret Brouwer, Peter Gilbert, and Orianna Webb. While Greg's music is in the classical tradition, it often incorporates many elements of jazz, rock, and funk and has been described as "exciting", "visceral", and "haunting".
