Lost

Lost and rejected she leaves the house, that never was her home
Then with carried belongings, makes her way to the cities streets to roam
Hungry and tired she sleeps where she falls. and shivers in the nights cold air
Until later a friendly voice speaks to her, and coaxes her into his care

He gives her food and makes her warm, both on the outside and in
She rests relieved and as she does, thinks of how scared she has been
At just Sixteen and still a child, with her Samaritin she stays
Untill on street corners she looks for clients as his kindness she repays

She turns her trick with saddened eyes, as again her body is taken
Her mind switches off as she lays there numb, her innocence forsaken
Craving returns for the powdery white dust that takes away the pain
But relief only lasts for too short a time, before needing a fix once again

Her life in a circle of sex and drugs, spirals downhill as years follow
Untill all that is left of her pretty young face is a thin one, tired and hollow
No one to hold her, no one to love her, she passes away where she lies
Her soul and spirit fly to a far better place, as her mistreated body dies.
