This whole area pertains to my family which is a major part of this web site as well as my life. The picture to the right shows my whole immediate family. My dad, Patrick, and my brother, Sean, are in the back while I, my other brother, TJ, and my mom, RJ, are in the front. We are certainly a very interesting bunch when we get together and are in the best of moods.
One of our most recent escapades involved a trip to a local grocery store. While we were there, TJ found a stuffed monkey and placed it on my dad's shoulder as we shopped. As the night progressed and we were making our way to the checkout, TJ and I broke out in uncontrollable laughter. The laughter continued from the checkout all the way out the front of the store and in to the parking lot. While we were laughing we were carrying the groceries, so it had to have been some sight!
On the drive home, the whole group, Mom, Dad, TJ, Erica, and I, broke out in karaoke-style song. We started with one song and sang as much as we could and once we couldn't remember the words we went straight in to some other song. I will admit that the whole time was hilarious and filled with the typical mumbling of words when someone didn't know the words.

For everyone that reads through these pages, I hope that you love your family because they are the ones who will always be there to help you out of a tough time. No matter how much everyone fights or "hates" each other, family is the greatest ally anyone could ever have just below God. Always know that your family does understand and they will be behind you every step of the way supporting, when you're right or need it, and guiding, when you may be mistaken or unsure.
I'm not trying to sugar-coat the reality of family, this is just what I have discovered as I've grown up. I feel that many of my best qualities have been ingrained in my brain and soul by my family. In the most basic sense, my parents have made sure that I have respect for others, manners in all that I do, and a very strong work ethic. My brothers have given me a strong social network, knowledge of how to live with others (in the same room), and the drive to be better. All of these lessons have come easy some times but more often with conflict and eventually understanding.

For most of my life at home I have lived in the same room as one of my brothers or even both. Currently my brothers and I all share a room and we have for some time so there have been plenty of fights and territory wars. Aside from the conflicts though, there have been many deep talks and comradery, and we have actually become friends. Though it sounds weird, the best sibling is one you also consider a friend and thats simply because it truly means that you trust in them and you get along more than just what is necessary in family.
