This portion of the site is all about the angel that God has sent to me in the form of my soul mate and fiancee, Erica. Erica and I actually met at a homecoming event on the Ashland University campus during our freshman year but we didn't start dating until January 9, 2006. When we started out dating, it was great but we hit a rough patch at about the three month anniversary. During that time we had our share of problems but the best part of it all is that God saw us through and actually strengthened our relationship. There were many long nights of sitting in the car and talking things out without all the distractions of the dorms.
Erica is a wonderful girl who means the world to me, though I don't always show it. I must say that if it weren't for Erica being at my side, there would have many times in which I wouldn't have had the strength to see through. Here, recently, she has done so much to help e get through the end of the senior year of college. I have had countless roommate issues and she has been there every step of the way, helping vent or, as is the case as I type this, getting me out of an environment that is rather unlivable. Erica truly looks out for my health, both mentally and physically, and she is really the one that ensures our healthy relationship.

Erica is a large ball of eccentricity contained in her tiny 5 foot tall frame. She, and anyone will tell you, is a joy to be around and can surely brighten all who are in the room with her. Erica is also willing to try almost anything at least once, including rugby. She enjoyed one season of rugby with Ashland University before she had to quit due to injuries. Erica is a very social woman who is striving to be an art teacher with her major being Art Education with a concentration in computer art. She loves children and especially loves to teach art in ways that anyone can appreciate. One of her greatest teaching experiences thus far came in the form of her field experience overseas in Ireland.
Erica is no stranger to travel and actually enjoys the chance for adventure, whether by herself or within a group. Erica actually talks of wanting to see many more countries before her time on Earth is through. Some of her interests include some more European countries but her major one, other than more Ireland, is Egypt because she loves the pyramids. Though she has been many places within the United States and some places outside as well, I believe that her favorite trips have been the ones that she has made to Ireland. Erica has had two trips to Ireland with one being to Belfast, Northern Ireland, and the other being to both County Clare and County Kerry, Ireland.

Erica's trip to Belfast was for a missions trip through the university and it was over our spring break. While she was there she had a good time in country but the travel was rather harsh for her whole group and especially her. The time she was gone really made me long for her and it made me long so much that I picked her out an engagement ring. The most interesting part about the engagement ring was that it was made in Ireland, so I was ordering her something from Ireland while she was there.
Her latter trip was for her field experience (teaching experience) and she actually taught art lessons to Irish children in multiple grade levels. During this trip she was gone for little over 2 months. During those two months, Erica enjoyed everything from the Irish hospitality, to the music scene of Doolin, to the breathtaking scenery of the two counties. While she toured and taught, Erica stayed in hostiles and finally in a b & b where she was cared for by some great people. Erica loved the family that ran the b & b and even promised them that we would stop by on our honeymoon to Ireland.

The day I proposed to Erica
Me proposing to Erica at the Teapot Rugby Dome Scandal.

Speaking of honeymoon, Erica and I were engaged on May 5, 2007 at the Teapot Rugby Dome Scandal. For those that don't know, this is a rugby tournament that is held in Marion, Ohio every spring. After the men's final game, I actually proposed to Erica on the side of the field. There were really cool parts to this proposal. The first cool part was that the proposal was done while Erica and I were still wearing our rugby uniforms. The second cool part was that I was doing the proposal in a rather unlikely place such as the rugby tournament. The final cool, and honestly intimidating, part was that I proposed to her in front of both of Ashland's rugby teams (the men's and women's teams). It was a great day for the both of us and I was rather proud of the ring choice as well as the timing of the proposal.
Erica and I plan to be wed on May 16, 2009, in her hometown of Cumberland, Ohio. We planned it for a year after we graduate so that we had enough time to actually get settled down and find jobs.
