Guess I have been slacking a bit lately (again). Not purposely mind you, but I have been. It's not because there is nothing to say. Quite the contrary, I could go nonstop for days. It's the depression this administration is wreaking out on the entire country. I don't want to limit it to just there either. It is worldwide or soon to be for sure.
Why don't you enlist Billiebob to help you with this one.
This is precious. Take a look.
Geithner: Obama to fight international tax dodgers; Mar 3, 2009; AP/Breitbart.com
When I point out the obvious here, you will either laugh yourself silly or go into a rage. It's your choice.
President Barack Obama's Treasury secretary says the administration will unveil a series of rules and measures in the coming months to limit the ability of international companies to avoid U.S. taxes.
The lead-in headline refers to BillieBob Clinton. If you remember his last minute pardons before leaving (with half the White House furnishings), Billebob issued a pardon for Marc Rich. Marc Rich was in exile in Switzerland for tax evasion.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Ways and Means Committee on Tuesday that Obama will propose legislation to limit U.S. companies' ability to shelter foreign earnings from taxation in the U.S. He also said the administration will try to limit wealthy Americans' ability to use tax havens to avoid taxation.
Our Treasurey Secretary there Tim Geithner was a tax cheat who had to pay his back taxes and interest before assuming the Obama appointment. Remember Tommy Daschole? He didn't take the head of the Heath Services because he also cheated on his taxes. Do you recall Charles Rangel, democrap congressman from NY? He also has a little problem with not declaring income for tax purposes.
He did not immediately provide details.
That doesn't surprise me. You know what I think? Before going after the international filers, I think we could probably collect more from congressional democrats and Obama appointees. At least the international filers did the right thing and left the country. The others stayed and are running the country.
Under cover of darkness....
Every time the democraps take (I mean take not win) power they preface their assumption of power with a statement of ethics and purity. This will be the most open and ethical administration ever, according to Obaka (baka in Japanese means fool, the "O" in front means "big or huge").
Russian President Won't "Haggle" Over US Missile Defense Plans; DW-World.de; Mar 3, 2009
Had to pull this from the German press. It's interesting none the less.
Russian President Medvedev has said he's willing to discuss the proposed US missile shield with Washington. But he added that any deal linking those talks with negotiations regarding Iran would not be productive.
I thought the world would love us now that we have Obaka in the White House. Seems like the ruskies are still the ruskies. But the worst part, Obama is a total lightweight in over his head.
Russian President Dimitry Medvedev's comments came in response to a New York Times report that US President Barack Obama had written a secret letter to his Russian counterpart offering to halt the planned missile shield, which would be located mainly in Poland and the Czech Republic, in return for Moscow's help in stopping Iran from developing long-range nuclear weapons.
A secret letter? What happened to the open-ness promised by His Eminence? Aww it's only a missile shield to protect Europe and eventually a protection for the US mainland as well.
Obama on Tuesday said the Times report did not "accurately characterize the letter" he sent Medvedev.
"What I said in the letter was that, obviously, to the extent that we are lessening Iran's commitment to nuclear weapons, then that reduces the pressure for -- or the need for a missile-defense system," he said.
Really? Is it Iran's missiles that threatens Europe?
Russia has been bitterly opposed to the deployment of a US missile system in Poland and the Czech Republic ever since it was proposed by the former US President George W. Bush's administration. Moscow believes the interceptor system is aimed at Russia. Bush officials have said it was meant to counter missile threats from states such as Iran.
Someone want to clue Obaka in on the ruskies game plan? I think Putin and the rest of the world tyrants already know that the US has a totally inexperienced dunce in the White House. If they didn't know it when he was elected, they sure as hell know it now.
So where is all the confidence?
Our commander-in-cheese is trying to get his plan rolling. Problem is, he is pushing uphill.
Obama tries to pump up confidence in the economy; By TOM RAUM, Associated Press Writer; Mar 4, 2009
YES WE CAN!!
Trying to pump up the nation's confidence, President Barack Obama said Tuesday that Wall Street has been hammered so hard that "buying stocks is a potentially good deal," and he dispatched top aides to Capitol Hill to defend his plans for pulling the economy out of its deep recession. The stock market slipped ever lower, and Republicans suggested Obama was "cooking the books" in rosy recovery predictions.
Cooking the books? Guess he learned that trick from BillieBob. His plans for pulling the economy out of its deep recession is akin to pouring gasoline on a brush fire.
After being accused for weeks of being too negative about the economy, Obama recently has shifted to a more positive tone. He and his aides still say recovery won't come quickly, but they are becoming more aggressive in declaring that the government's efforts will work.
If these plans are designed to help, why does the stock market react in the negative?
"What the economy requires, what the American people demand is that we move as aggressively as we can to get growth back on track," Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee. "I'm confident this is the right path for the country."
This Geithner guy is brilliant. The problem is, their policies are all wrong. The government cannot spend their way out of a recession. Ask FDR. Well, I guess he's dead, but his policies are also dead, so why re-implement them?
Obama's plan envisions a deficit of $1.7 trillion this year followed by several more years of trillion-dollar shortfalls.
In football you get a penalty for "piling on". It happens in politics as well. Too bad, however, the penalty flag is thrown at the taxpayers, not the ones "piling on".
