THE EYE KNOWS

Are you ready for another look at the mass media joke that they refer to as news. There are some real good things to look at this week. I will try to keep it a little light-heared, but hang on to your stomachs, because it is a little more absurd than usual (is that possible?)

The Loving Couple have done all right (since they left the White House).

I have nothing against wealth, nor accumlated wealth. I just wished I would have amassed some of it.

Clintons Sell Possibly Troublesome Stock; Jun 15 01:50 PM US/Eastern; By JIM KUHNHENN; Associated Press Writer
If the truth be told, the Lovebird Couple never earned more than $35,000 as governor (or should I say co-governors) of Arkansas. They now are in pretty good shape (financial wise).

Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton liquidated the contents of their blind trust upon learning it contained investments of $5 million to $25 million that could pose conflicts of interest or prove to be embarrassing to her presidential campaign.

The blind trust and a bank account valued in the same range place the Clinton's total wealth at between $10 million and $50 million. Not too bad after about 14 years. Who have they invested in?
The blind trust held stock in pharmaceutical companies, including $250,000-$500,000 in Biogen Idec and Johnson & Johnson and $100,000- $250,000 in Amgen, Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline. It also invested in General Electric and Raytheon, two leading defense contractors. The trust had a varied portfolio, with investments in numerous other companies, including Exxon Mobil, BP Amoco, Walt Disney and eBay.
Gosh, big oil and big drug are prominent. Now keep in mind that the Broom Lady does not approve of oil company profits (scratching head) or drug company profits as well. Billie-bob in fact created a influenza vacination shortage by demanding drug companies sell them at cost. Since they couldn't profit, they didn't produce them. Billie-bob was such an intellectual giant. I guess he should read a previous commentary of mine explaining how stupid Broom Hillary is when speaking about economics. Turns out he is certainly no better.

The blind trust held stock worth $100,000- $250,000 in NewsCorp, the parent company of Fox News, which many Democrats have denounced as biased against them. The trust also held stock in Wal-Mart and Wal- Mart de Mexico.
Gosh, the evil Wal-mart was in that portfolio too. (Note any hypocrisy here?)

When it comes to family affluence, the reports show that the New York senator is the wealthiest of all members of Congress seeking the presidency.
Well there you have it.

The new report also shows that the former president made $16 million in speaking fees between January 2006 and Wednesday. So far this year, Bill Clinton has given 34 paid speeches for a total of $5.9 million.
You sorta have to hope Billie-bob is not speaking about economics.

With all that wealth amassed in such a short period of time, you would wonder if the loving pair here are a little generous. I want to point out that, yes, they are extremely benevolent. The writer aptly points out at the end of this article just how warm and giving Billie-bob is.

Jay Carson, the former president's spokesman, said Clinton typically donates millions of dollars in free speeches to charities.
There you have it. Thanks for telling us that Jay. The recipients of all that compassion have the true value of his donations - ZERO. You certainly can't take his word to the bank.

This young lady had a real problem

This article is a head scratcher for sure.

Better labels urged for sports creams; By KAREN MATTHEWS, Associated Press Writer; June 12, 2007
Have you ever noticed the labelling of products these days? Because of tort law and class action suits these days, a product label virtually has to be encyclopedic. I mean you find warnings for not ironing shirts while you wear them. I particularly like the condom label for using only one time, butc

Arielle Newman was a high school track star who suffered from the typical aches and pains that result from a grueling training regimen. For relief, she covered her legs with large amounts of muscle cream.
The warning label probably does not specify keeping the cremes less than 48 ounces.

The 17-year-old died from an accidental overdose of methyl salicylate, the wintergreen-scented ingredient found in liniments like BenGay, Icy Hot and Tiger Balm, the New York City medical examiner's office said last week. The death was the first of its kind in the city, authorities said.
Probably first of its kind anywhere, however, remember we are talking New York here.

Experts said Newman's death points to a need for clearer warnings about risks, especially because muscle creams have become a staple in locker rooms around the country.
Baseball bats are also a staple and likewise risky, but I doubt if there is a warning for "not for human consumption".

"There were multiple products, used to great excess, and that's how she ended up with high levels," Borakove said. The products were used and the chemical absorbed over time, rather than from a single instance of overuse, she said.
If you use anything to great excess, you run a risk. Ask Billie-bob, he had a few excesses he probably wished he would have avoided.

Varlotta said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration should mandate the warning labels also include that the products contain aspirin, which can be harmful for some consumers, including those with asthma.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but she didn't die of an aspirin overdose. Can you see what's coming here folks?

"There are warnings but I don't think they're strong enough. I don't think they're direct enough," he said. "There's nothing here that says 'contains an aspirin product.'"
As I said in the beginning warning labels need to be encyclopedic.

Rebecca Burkholder, vice president for health policy at the National Consumers League, said a major problem is that people don't read warning labels on over-the-counter drugs.
There, I think I discovered the problem. What's that Eye? You mean, you agree with NCL? Nope, she went to public school, it's not that people today don't take the time to read, most of the people leaving public education can't read. I think they will end up suing the wrong institution. Good thing manufacturers can't sue people for lack of commonsense because tort lawyers would never have any free time.

These Killers will get the death penalty when caught

I hate to comment on premeditated murder simply because it is such a cruel event to be writing about.

4 dolphins shot to death in Calif.; By NOAKI SCHWARTZ, Associated Press Writer Fri Jun 15, 6:01 PM ET
Oh the horror of it all. More than likely these dolphins were unarmed.

Four dead dolphins have washed ashore with fatal bullet wounds and fifth with lacerations on its pectoral fin, said authorities who have offered a reward for information on the slayings.
The reporter fails to mention whether the dolphins were still with their trade-marked smiles.

The long-beaked common dolphins were all discovered between Carlsbad State Beach and Oceanside Harbor between May 29 and June 5. Photos showed their normally sleek gray skin mottled and stained with blood from the bullet wounds.

"It's a horrendous thing that happened," said Mark Oswell, spokesman for the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. "That someone would go out there and shoot four dolphins."
Hopefully they are not Islamic terrorists so we can continue to pursue these beasts.

Necropsies revealed that the dolphins, which were healthy with bellies full of fish, may have been shot at the same time with the same gun. Four had between one and three bullets of the same caliber in the same part of their heads.
Execution style killings. Pointing more and more to radical terrorists if you ask me.

"It usually turns out to be a fisherman," said Oswell, adding there have been cases when anglers take out their frustrations on dolphins and other mammals that eat their catch.
And their full bellies lead credence to this speculation.

The agency is offering up to $2,500 for information on the deaths. If caught, the perpetrator could face civil penalties of up to $12,000 or a criminal fine of up to $20,000, as well as jail time.
I'll bet that if this person is caught, you will have PETA screaming for the death penalty.
