Things are changing in the political world. Strange things at that. Well, normally that world is strange but as you go over this commentary, you might feel the same. Let's look at the broom lady. Nothing is as strange as that.
Listen to the sound of MONEY
Something is very strange with the mass media lately. Let's see if we can figure this out.
Clinton Fund-Raiser
Faces New
Charges; September 20, 2007;
ABCnews.com
From the very beginning I commented that the fund-raiser story on the Witch Lady would get swept under the rug. Well, again I have to admit to a mistake. It's still with us. The real question is WHY.
Norman Hsu, the disgraced
former
Clinton fund-raiser, now stands accused of
defrauding investors out of more than
$60 million, with a new criminal complaint
unsealed against him in Manhattan on
Thursday. Hsu faces up to 45 years in prison
under the latest charges.
As Rush Limbaugh pointed out last week, the media as been referring to "disgraced
democrat fund-raiser" or now, "disgraced
Clinton fund-raiser". This is not normal reporting for the apologetic mass media types. Totally out of place.
US Attorney Michael Garcia said
Hsu linked his business transactions with his
support for political candidates, saying
that Hsu used others as "straw donors" to
have people "make contributions in
their own name but on his behalf."
This is illegal, but normally with the Clintons, nothing is illegal, it's just an obstacle to circumvent.
This is the first time that Hsu
stands
accused of specific campaign-finance
improprieties.
You have to wonder if the dems won't try to get this Garcia US attourney guy fired. Where is Alberto Gonzales when you need him?
Garcia said he has been in touch
with the Clinton campaign, and that officials
there have been cooperative.
Speaking on CNN on
Thursday,
Clinton said she was unconcerned about the
impact on her campaign.
Confrontational!!! Probably the first time the broomer has been questioned directly. The question has to be asked again!!! WHY?!!!!
"This happened to a lot of
campaigns, a lot of investors who made
investments that unfortunately don't look like
they were treated appropriately," she said.
"The system of justice will work its course
and I think that's appropriate."
Yeah, right. Just like the system busted Charlie Trie, Loreal Space, and the Bhuddist Monks. Let me ask another question. Can you point to what other campaigns have encountered this on such a regular basis?
Though Clinton, D-N.Y., has
already
pledged to return the $850,000 Hsu brought
in for her campaign, this keeps an
embarrassing story alive for the Democratic
front-runner, even as other Clinton
fund-raisers face renewed scrutiny.
Can I ask that rhetorical question again. WHY?? Why is this story sticking in the media? This is so untypical.
Though other candidates also
have
fund-raisers who are facing legal troubles,
Clinton is in a more perilous place
politically than other Democrats because of
the fund-raising scandals under her
husband's tenure in the White House.
Could a penalty flag for piling on be thrown here. Bubba-Billie-Bob has been implicated now. Why???
Already, former senator John
Edwards, D-N.C., has reminded voters on the
campaign trail about fund-raising scandals
involving the Lincoln Bedroom. Several other
candidates, most notably Sen. Chris Dodd,
D-Conn., have begun to raise questions
about Clinton's electability, given the bad
memories many voters harbor over the
scandal-plagued 1990s.
I think we have found the answer. Do you see it? Read it carefully now. It is something I have been saying the last 7 years. Eventually they will realize that Hillary is non-electable. I think they are approaching eventuality now and gives some sort of meaning to the monikers of "disgraced democrat donor".
Where have all the protestors gone?
Shall we have close look at the worldwide protesting of the Iraq war.
Protests urge swift Darfur action
By
D'ARCY DORAN, Associated Press, Sep 16,
2007
These people are organized.
Protesters held demonstrations in
several countries on Sunday to urge world
leaders and the U.N. General Assembly
to work harder to end the crisis in Darfur.
Worldwide organized. They really must get results!!
Hundreds of activists rallied in
London, many donning black blindfolds to
symbolize the international community's
failure to act since vowing to stop atrocities in
Darfur two years ago.
Anyone see anything strange with that lead-in to the meat of the news? If you look at it with objectivity, it is glaring. Let's look at some more.
Organizers planned protests in
more
than 30 countries, including Australia, Egypt,
Germany, Japan, Mongolia, Nigeria,
South Africa and the United States. They said
the international community had become
complacent since the U.N. Security Council
approved plans on July 31 for a 26,000-
strong peacekeeping force for the vast, war
-battered region in western
Sudan.
Oooooo, a UN force. The blue-helmeted warriors are tough. I suggest they change their helmet color to pink or rainbow, but perhaps my suggestion will fall on deaf ears.
The deployment of the joint
African
Union-U.N. peacekeeping force faces delays,
however, due to a lack of aviation,
transport and logistics units, U.N. Secretary
-General Ban Ki- moon has said.
And they wanted these gladiators to go into Iraq to straighten that place out (rolling eyes).
Britain and China pledged new
support Sunday for the hybrid peacekeeping
force.
Now they are getting serious, aren't they?!!!!
Britain would likely provide
technical
support for peacekeepers, as well as
additional support for the African
countries contributing to the force, said Prime
Minister Gordon Brown, who helped push
the British-French resolution on Darfur
through the U.N. Security Council.
Beijing, which is trying to counter
criticism that it is reluctant to support
international intervention in Darfur, said
it would send 315 people.
(scratching head) Likely? Tech support? How about that Chinese support - 315 people(?).
The Chinese group - comprised
of
Chinese engineer platoons, a well-digging
platoon, and a field hospital team - will
build roads, bridges and dig wells before the
larger U.N.-AU force arrives, China's
Defense Ministry said, according to state
media.
That's about enough of this crap. Let's face it, the UN is a joke and you better hope to God they never are called in to bail out U S forces. Pretty hard to do with well-diggers and tech support, let alone no logistics or air support. But, let's go back to the lead-in and laugh at the organized protesting. How much support does this protest have behind it? The lead-in says it all "hundreds of
activists rallied in London". Mass media writers have to keep some sort of perspective or they will be debunked rather easily. It would be easy to debunk them if they would have stated, 10s of thousands or a hundred thousand, or even thousands, but when they drop to totals like "hundreds" you know that no one showed up. The average person who reads the story, this flies right by them. The media wants to lead the reader into the impression that there was huge and complete worldwide support for this. In actuality, it was a total flop. You can find more people standing in line for a toilet at a rock concert than this worldwide protest. Think the protestors would have had more success protesting for more toilets at a rock concert. At least then they could have drawn more than flies.
The real joke in mass media reporting. .
.
No idea of how many of my readers believe in global warming. If there are some, I'd like to hear from you. I find global warming a complete joke.
Rising seas likely to flood U.S.
history By SETH BORENSTEIN, AP Science
Writer ; Sep 22, 2007
It certainly is possible that the temperature may be fluxuating upwards, but to claim the fluxuation is caused by man is a total ruse.
Ultimately, rising seas will likely
swamp the first American settlement in
Jamestown, Va., as well as the Florida
launch pad that sent the first American into
orbit, many climate scientists are
predicting. In about a century, some of the
places that make America what it is may be
slowly erased.
The unreported news is that there are more scientists disclaiming this than predicting it. Problem is, these people are not being reported.
Global warming - through a
combination of melting glaciers, disappearing
ice sheets and warmer waters expanding -
is expected to cause oceans to rise by one
meter, or about 39 inches. It will
happen regardless of any future actions to
curb greenhouse gases, several leading
scientists say. And it will reshape the
nation.
Where is all the reporting about the warming that ended the ice ages?
Storm surges worsened by sea
level
rise will flood the waterfront getaways of rich
politicians - the Bushes'
Kennebunkport and John Edwards' place on
the Outer Banks. And gone will be many
of the beaches in Texas and Florida favored
by budget-conscious students on Spring
Break.
Now it is getting serious, where will the students go on spring break? (Trust me, these people are creative.)
"We're going to get a meter and
there's nothing we can do about it," said
University of Victoria climatologist
Andrew Weaver, a lead author of the
February report from the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change in Paris. "It's going
to happen no matter what - the question is
when."
Hey, someone got it right. It's going to happen no matter what. If we didn't cause it, we can't fix it. Now let's party down with those college girls gone wild. It's more interesting than global warming and Algore.
