Are you ready for some more? I didn't think so, but I'm gonna throw some more atcha anyway.
Seems like the Magic Man Obama and Broom Hillary may go down to the wire, but the Magic Guy doesn't have a prayer to pull it off against the Clinton war room. However, it will get interesting and hopefully some fur will fly. Let's take a looksee.
To know him is to love him
This story was made to order by the Clinton machine.
Obama tries to peel away Clinton
backers; By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated
Press Writer; Jul 18, 2007
As we make our trek towards 2008, things are beginning to heat up. Normally it doesn't start this early, but a lot of states have moved up their primaries so the delegates will be chosen earlier from now on. That means the 2 contenders still standing will have more face time (shudder). Not that you want to see any of the democrat candidates faces.
Barack Obama says
people are sure
to love him once they get to know
him.
Puh-leeze spare me the details. The guy has been in the Senate for all of 2 years and has made one speech.
For now, though, Democrats
seem
to love Hillary Rodham Clinton more, so
Obama is trying to turn heads with select
jabs at his chief rival.
Better watch that jabbing. She is like a wet rooster.
Obama's criticisms of the two-
term
senator and former first lady have been
regular but subtle reminders that for all his
campaign money and promises of hope, he
still trails her in most national and early
state polls.
Notice the subtlety here-- two-term senator(?). She won re-election to the senate in 2006 and started her second term in January of 2007. Resume enhancement is part of the democrat playbook.
The heart of
Obama's campaign is
convincing voters that Clinton is a Washington
establishment candidate -- the quasi-
incumbent, as his campaign manager called
her recently -- while he will bring fresh
views for voters tired of politics as usual. But
he has to walk a fine line when it
comes to criticizing his opponents so voters
don't see him as just another politician
on the attack.
Not only him, but everyone challenging the
witch-in-waiting. These candidates have to
understand that not only are they going after
Broom Hillary, but against the Clinton-
machine media.
"The tough part for Senator
Obama
or anyone is how to criticize Senator Clinton
without getting crosswise with Democrats
and their affection for the Clinton family,"
Simmons said.
We know one attack they won't be using -- the truth. That's hitting below the belt. There's not one of them that can stand against it.
Cruelty on the part of us Americans
Remember the senate vote trying to stuff the immigration bill down our throats? Well actions have consequences.
More migrants die as U.S.
tightens
border security; By Robin Emmott ; Jul 12,
2007; YahooNews.com/Reuters
Migrants? Hell, theyre illegals.
Tougher security along the U.S.-
Mexico border is forcing migrants to take
more dangerous, remote routes to cross into
the United States and pushing up the number
of deaths in the desert.
The media has already given these people status - migrants.
But some border experts say
enforcement does not stop those trying to
get into the United States and only
makes it more dangerous, greatly raising the
fees charged by people smugglers. As
security increases, so will the number of
deaths, they say.
Capitalism at work. I would hope congress looks into price gouging allegations.
Before the stepped-up
enforcement
operations, experts say most deaths were due
to traffic accidents as migrants
dashed across freeways in border areas.
Today, most die from hypothermia in the
desert or by drowning in the Rio Grande and
irrigation canals.
You sort of have to wonder why they havent proposed crosswalks on the freeways. I have another suggestion. Maybe the Red Cross could sponsor swimming lessons.
It never had any teeth
I don' know why I spend so much time on this stupid issue, but I do. I guess it's a combination of the ridiculousness of global warming and the equal ridiculousness of Algore.
Gore's message loses bite; By
Rebecca Keeble; July 18, 2007; UK
Telegraph
I would like to rename that headline to - Gore's message bites. It's more descriptive.
ONLY one week after Live Earth, Al
Gore's green credentials slipped while hosting
his daughter's wedding in Beverly Hills.
Gore and his guests at the weekend
ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass -
arguably one of the world's most
threatened fish species.
Too bad crow wasn't on the menu.
Also known as
Patagonian toothfish,
the species is under pressure from illegal,
unregulated and unreported fishing
activities in the Southern Ocean, jeopardising
the sustainability of remaining
stocks.
This is some devastating news.
As we await a response from the
US, thousands of endangered seabirds die,
while the sustainability of the
Patagonian toothfish and the legal fishing
industry inches closer to the brink of
extinction.
Anyone see any correlation to the seabirds and the toothfish? I really have a hard time seeing what toothfish fishing and dieing seabirds have in common.
And Al Gore could choose
something else to eat.
The solution is simple in my mind. Feed him some of those dieing seabirds. They're a lot easier to catch.
