| When Matt was about 15 mo. old he liked to "help", I was in the back yard working in a catus garden I had put in a couple weeks earlier.He leaned over and started to touch the leaves of the catus plant.I said no Matt don't touch that it will bite your fingers.He pulled his hand back and wrinkled up his little face in an inqusitive look and said It will bite my fingers?That is the first sentence he said to me.I will never forget the look on his face.I saw it so many times in the years that followed.. | Matt was six or seven, his dad,grandfather and uncle were up on the shed roof putting up a tv antenna.Matt & his brother Evan were playing in the shed,I looked out the window and the lawn tractor was rolling out of the shed with Matt behind it with his hands on it trying to stop it,Evan was in the seat.I though I was yelling for the men to help and I was beating on the window .{later I learned no sound was coming out of my mouth}Matt's mom saw how distrot I was and ran out the back door,she yelled and Matt's dad & uncle jumped from the roof,but they were too late .I watched in horror as the tractor pinned Matt against the bumper of my car.We rushed him to the emergency room and learned he was just bruised.Evan was in the seat and they rocked the tractor until it rolled out of the shed with Matt behind it. |

| Matt wore caps all the time.He had tons of caps.His favorite one was a white one,It was so old and dirty looking but he insisted on wearing it everywhere.I asked him once if he slept in a hat. |

| After the accident Matt was in on April 24th 1999 in which his friend Michael Napoli was killed, he had to go for many follow up examinations.I took him to most of these appointments.On one of these appointments we were kept waiting in the exam room for a very long time.Matt took a rubber glove from the box on the table and blew it up really big,then he drew a face on it and wedged it inside one of the cabinets.After we left whoever opened the cabinet got a funny surprise. | One day after school I was walking to Kyle Reese's house to pick up my car and as I got to the driveway, I saw a line of Hresheys Kisses leading up to my car. There were Hersheys Kisses all over my car, and he wrote" I love you" with them on the hood of my car, and there were flowers and a sweet card on my windshield. He used to do things like that all the time. he was incredibly thoughful and loving. He was just an amazing guy and I will love him forever. written by Liz McSpadden |

| One day last December(2000)when I was working at Hechts in Harford Mall,Matt and Jay Edwards came in to see me on my break. So, we were walking around the mall, and I decided it would be funny if I tripped Matt. Well, I tripped him, but he didn't fall down,and he kept saying"If you trip me one more time,I will embarass you." So,of course I tripped him again. He then dramatically through himself onto the floor in the middle of the mall.. |
| and started making all kinds of embarassing comments. Everyone was staring at us. I thought it was hilarious, so I did it again. Only this time it was right in front of my work, and he fell on the floor again, and this time he started yelling stuff at me. I got sooo embarassed. I started running away,and he was yelling my name and chasing after me through the store. It was sooo embarassing,but it was really funny. I hid from him in the bathroom,until he promised to be quiet and not make a scene.It was really funny. He got a kick out of it. Matt was always doing crazy stuff, He never cared what people thought about him. He was just having fun,and making people laugh. That's what I loved about him. | How I Met Matt I actually just became friends with Liz during soccer try-outs of my freshman year. We used to always watch the soccer boys and check them out after practice. Liz had her eye on Matt from the beggining.She pointed him out one day and asked me to talk to him for her. I don't remember exactly how it happened but it seems like only a week later they were together. After that it was always Matty & Lizzie. I couldn't picture either of them with someone else. They had some rough times, breaking up occationally and seeing other people. But I know by talking to both of them that no one could compare to either of them for each other. Matt also hooked me up with his friend Jeff during my freshman year. I'm sure |
| you know Jeff. Anyway it was cute, best friends with best friends. The whole Kerri & Jeff thing didn't last too long but we all had some good times. It was actually pretty funny,I don't know how they put up with us.Liz and I were freshman and weren't allowed to do anything. They used to take us to parties,(and everyone would get mad b/c they brought "freshman")then they would have to take us home by our eleven oclock curfew.We used to sneak back out and see them sometimes. I don't know how we did it but we never got caught.One time we snuck out on Valentines day to see them.It was during one of Matt & Liz's fights.They are both so hard headed,and neither one of them would admitt to each other that they wanted to see each other.But Liz was miserable not seeing him on Valentines day.So I got Jeff to come over and take |
| us to Matts.Of course they made up and everything was back to normal. They spent all four Valentines day together.And come to think of it with me too .Matt used to get a little annoyed(probally a lot annoyed) that Liz and I were always together,It was rare that he ever got to be with just her.Eventually he got used to it.
