| The Purpose of the Grandview Hills Neighborhood Association is to improve the quality of life in the area by increasing safety for children and other residents; strengthening ties among neighbors; beautifying the area; and representing the neighborhood on community issues. Since its inception in January, 2000, the Grandview Hills Neighborhood Association has been awarded over $5,000 in grant funding from the City of Manhattan to use for beautification projects. The funds have been used for picnic tables for the Girl Scout House, plants for our three traffic circles, honeysuckle for Sunset Cemetery fence beautification, and water spigots for our traffic circles and the Wickham Triangle. Most recently, our 2002 grant application for entry markers and further fence beautification was approved. During the fall of 2003, the stone masons were busy at work, and with the financial assistance of numerous neighbors who donated several thousand dollars, our neighborhood entry marker in the Wickham Triangle is complete! Thanks to the City of Manhattan for the neighborhood grant, and to our neighbors for seeing this project through to its completion. The Association sponsors a neighborhood picnic on Manhattan Day each June. The 2009 picnic will be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Girl Scout House located at Grandview Drive and Sunset Avenue. Our Association maintains a roster of neighbors and an e-mail contact list. The lists help us to maintain ties within the area, and to serve as notification of important events that affect us individually or as a neighborhood. Contact any of the officers below with your suggestions or concerns. |
