Event: Battle of the Bands 2002

Review: This is one of the Best local band shows i've been to. Every thing was so perfect. The sound was exellent, the bands were exellent, and the performance was exellent. There were tones of people who went to the Battle, and their all great people. This was an awsome event, and then some!
The bands that played was: Commoname, The Goods, Geinus, Blue Mojo, Still Hip With the Kids, Tarmouth, and Lunatics on Grass. Each had a great 40 min set and all the bands used every minite to the max. Every band that played was spectacular, and had its own little touch to remember them by. Commoname Had it's fastpace mind blowing guitar solos, The Goods had its wackyness and audience interactivness, Geinus was the hardest core band there with it's lowpitch beats, Blue Mojo was my personal favorite, and had some crazy ass bass lines, Still Hip was exellent, their music was great, and the performance was energetic, Tarmouth was another hardcore band with energy to spare. They even busted a guitar after their set which drove the audience wild, and Lunatics on grass was phsycodellic and played tunes that you could really groove to. There was something for every one.
To make this event even better, (yeah it can actually get better!), Thomas amusement (carnaval) was right out side where the bands were playing. So this was more like a double feature. While your waiting for the doors to open, or waiting for your favourite band to play, you can chat with the carnies, go on a few rides, or perhapes (if your a winner like me) win a prize for your lovely girl friend.
The Battle of the Bands was exellent, and I feel sad for those poor suckers who did'nt go. I hope they have another one next year, but untill then, you can always drop down at calios on the week ends to see some great local bands.
