This website has been an like endless project ; I started thinking of such a thing back in 1997 : the main attraction then was the fact that you'd become among ones those who have a website : back then conventional wisdom classified people into 2 wide divides: ones that have it and ones that don't.

But with the progress of time, other advantages became clear as well : I mean now it's more of a contributory effort that any thing else... in a very short  time the whole web has become a real big BIG source of information: so why not contribute to it yourself as well.... it might not be that good but still there's always the chance of improvement.

Need less to say this site building episode has taken a lot unexpected twists and switchbacks. I've lost 3 hard-drives in this duration... upgraded my system twice... thrown away a PC once (that was when I did not come to know of the wonders of Linux, that can bring to life  a dead beat 486 or P1). Missed my self-proclaimed deadlines at  times more than I can remember . In this period I've switched operating systems at least 5 times (unfortunately the four were from our beloved Microsoft  folks)

But any how since now at my present location I have broadband internet access, a decent multi-OS PC, some amount of free time as well,  therefore I think if I don't do it now... then this task shall have to wait till kingdom comes for its completion.

But that’s nothing new. I’m sure similar things (or worse) happen during your projects.

OK Enough of nostalgia... the main purpose as I already said to contribute for the collective benefit of the online community (ok not the whole but at least for those who share my interest).

LEGAL MATTERS:

This site and  its contents that include, but are not limited to, the source code, manuals, tips, illustration in fact every thing is provided on a as-is-basis: I don't condone any particular operating system, software vendor, programming tool, or for that matter, any ethnic, political, racial point of view or any other thing else that can bring me into trouble. In short don't sue me... this is all done as public service so shame on those of you who are even thinking of this !!
