Website Summary
What content will the site contain?
This website will allow students to view and post other student's recipes to allow a simple, easy, process for cooking in college. Users will be able to post recipes, void of lengthy and uncessecary introductions, that will cater towards other college students. Users can then save, print, or copy recipes found on the site. When adding recipes, users can enter ingredient information, cost, cook and prep time, and other related information.
Where will you get all of the content for your site?
The content for my site will come from the users that use and share my website. I will also use friends, classmates, and university peers to startup the website, allowing them to add to it. I will also find free pictures and information online for the startup of this page.
Why should users care about the focus of the site?
Too often, we have fallen victim to the lengthy descriptions and unnecessary backgrounds given in typical cookbooks and online cooking discussions. Trying to find a simple recipe online turns in to a lengthy process of sorting through blog posts and long online videos. As college students with little time and little resources, we need a way to find quick, accessible recipes that are realistic to our circumstances.
Why should a site be built for this?
There needs to be an easy and accessible website designed specifically for locating easy recipes, in a time crunch, that is genuinely void of unnecessary information. Although many online cookbooks and blogs already exist with great recipes, they are commonly lengthy and difficult to navigate.
What would you like users to do at your site?
I want users to be able to post, save, copy, print, and use recipes uploaded to the site by other users. This should be an interactive site, where people can interact with posts and other users. Users should be able to naviagte from a home page to a seperate page, where they can view their saved posts. A seperate page should exist for making new posts, and options to edit previous posts or add comments to different posts should exist.
What is the goal of the site?
The ultimate goal for this site is to shorten the lengthy process that finding realistic recipes online has become. No longer should exist the lengthy introductions, reccomendations, and wordy instructions that complicate the cooking process exist. College students with limited time and limited resources deserve better than the typical mom's cooking blog.
