Bible Doctrine Study Guides Zephaniah Chapter 03 1 Woe to her who is filthy and polluted . . . to the oppressing city.
2
She obeyed not the Voice She received not correction. She trusted not in Jehovah. She drew not near to her 'Elohiym/Godhead. 3 Her princes within her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They gnaw not the bones till the morrow. 4 Her prophets are being wreckless and treacherous persons. Her priests have polluted the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.
5
The just Jehovah/God He will not do iniquity. Every morning He does bring His justice to light. He fails not. But the unjust knows no shame. 6 I have cut off the nations. Their towers are desolate.
I
made their streets waste
Their
cities are destroyed, 7 I said, 'Surely you will fear/respect Me. You will receive instruction.' So their dwelling should not be cut off. Howsoever I punished them. But they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
8
Therefore wait you all upon me, said Jehovah/God,
For
My determination is to gather the nations,
9
For then will I turn to the people a pure language,
10
From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My suppliants,
11
In that day
12
I will also leave in the middle of you all 13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies.
Neither
shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth . . .
{Verses
14-15: Evil will be Eliminated in the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ} Jehovah/God . . . the king of Israel . . . is in Your midst. And you shall not see evil any more. {Note: This means there will be no evil in the Millennium. But we know there is sin in the Millennium - for which capital punishment will be administered. So, evil and sin must be completely separate categories.}
16
In that day
And
to Zion,
17
Jehovah/God your 'Elohiym/Godhead He will deliver. He will rejoice over you all with joy. He will rest in His love. He will joy over you all with singing.
18
I will gather those who are sorrowful for the solemn assembly,
19
Behold, at that time
And
I will deliver her who halts,
And
I will get them praise and fame
20
At that time
