Bible Doctrine Study Guides Isaiah Chapter 66
1
Thus said Jehovah/God, Where is the house that you build unto Me? And where is the place of My rest?
2
For all those things has My hand made,
But
to this man will I look, 3 He who kills an ox is as if he slew a man. He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck. He who offers an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood. He who burns incense, as if he blessed an idol.
Yes,
they have chosen their own ways,
4
I also will choose their delusions,
But
they did evil before My eyes,
5
'Hear, listen and obey' {shama`}
6
A voice of noise from the city,
7
Before she travailed/'was in child birth',
Before
her pain came, 8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once?
For
as soon as Zion travailed/'went into child birth',
9
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth?
Shall
I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb?
10
Rejoice you with Jerusalem,
Rejoice
for joy with her,
11
That you may suck,
That
you may milk out,
12
For thus said Jehovah/God,
Then
shall you suck,
13
As one whom his mother comforts,
14
And when you see this,
15
For, behold, Jehovah/God will come with fire,
16
For by fire and by His sword will Jehovah/God plead with all flesh
17
Those who sanctify themselves, 18 For I know their works and their thoughts.
It
shall come,
19
And I will set a sign among them,
20
And they shall bring all your brethren
21
And I will also take of them for priests
22~~"For
as the new heavens and the new earth, {Note: See II Peter 3:13 and surrounding for more description of this event and Revelation 22:1}
23^~"And
it shall come to pass,
24^~And
they shall go forth,
For
their worm shall not die,
