Bible Doctrine Study Guides Isaiah Chapter 40 1 Comfort you, comfort you My people, said your 'Elohiym/Godhead.
2
Speak you comfortably to Jerusalem,
3
The voice of him who cries in the desert . . .
Prepare
you the Way of Jehovah/God, {Note: See also Luke 1:2 - Prophetical Reference to John the Herald/Baptizer}
4-5~~Every
valley shall be lifted up,
And
the rough ground make a plain For the mouth of Jehovah/God has spoken it. {Note: See Revelation 16:20 - this ties to the 2nd Advent of Christ - Topographical Changes in the Earth.} 6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry?
All
flesh is grass,
7
The grass withers,
8
The grass withers,
9
O Zion, who brings good tidings,
O
Jerusalem, who brings good tidings, Lift it up, be not afraid. Say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your 'Elohiym/Godhead!
10
Behold, the Lord/'Adonay God/Jehovah
Behold,
His reward is with Him, 11 He shall feed His flock like a shepherd.
He
shall gather the lambs with His arm,
12
Who has measured the waters 13-14~~Who has measured the spirit of Jehovah/God? Or as His counselor has caused Him to learn? 14~~ With whom has He taken counsel?
And
from whom has He received counsel
And
who shall teach Him the path of integrity, {Note: This is quoted by Paul in Romans 11:35.}
15
Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, Behold, He takes up the isles as a very little thing.
16
And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn,
17
All nations before him are as nothing; 18 To whom then will you liken 'Elohiym/Godhead? Or what likeness will you compare unto Him?
19
The workman melts a graven image,
20
He who is so impoverished
He
seeks unto him a cunning workman 21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22
It is He Who sits upon the circle of the earth, 23 Who brings the princes to nothing. He makes the judges of the earth as vanity/emptiness. 24 Yes, they shall not be planted. Yes, they shall not be sown. Yes, their stock shall not take root in the earth.
And
He shall also blow upon them,
25
To whom then will you liken Me, or shall I be equal?
26
Lift up your eyes on high,
He
calls them all by names
27
Why say you, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, 28 Have you not known?
Have
you not heard . . . There is no searching of his understanding.
29
He gives power to the faint;
30
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
31
But those who wait upon Jehovah/God They shall mount up with wings as eagles.
They
shall run, and not be weary;
