Doomsday Tutorial
Doomsday Tutorial by Gafgarion Hello, and welcome to my DD server guide! I hope you enjoy it. (Note- there was recently a server reset so there arent that many quests at the current time) Getting Started As the game begins, you will be taken to a room with NPCs in it. Be sure to grab everything. Here is what you get: Stats: changes view screen style Bow & Bomb: just basic bow and bomb items Recall Scroll: Allows you to return to the nation select screen Battle Cry: Makes your character lift his sword and yell Hats: give access to over 100 unique hats Hackysack: displays a funny little animation of your character playing Hackysack Music: allows you to toggle music on/off Outfits: allows you to change clothes colors (i.e. darkblue shoes) and save or load outfits (say save outfit # to save current outfit and load outfit # to load a saved outfit) Once youve picked up everything, leave the room, and youll be able to choose from a number of nations. Each nation has unique houses and NPCs. Now Ill list all the items and places of interest of each nation. Nations Haven -North from the town center is the Haveen Provisionary, where you can buy a boomerang and a mace. -To the immediate left of the town centter is an outfit shop, which explains the outfits npc, and shows some of the bodies you can use. -Directly below the outfit shop is a bllacksmith, where you can make weapons from the minerals you collect while mining. Eldaran -Walk left of the Eldaran start point tto reach a novelty shop, where you can get the emotions npc and the fun but somewhat annoying laugh npc. -Left and north of the start point is aa bank. Remember this place, it will come in handy for storing money. -Walk north and cross the bridge, then go left to reach a fishing shop. Here you can get the Fishing Rod npc for free. Fishing is one of many ways to make money on DD. -North of the start point, youll find a guard house that contains 3 npcs, but for some reason I was only able to pick up one, the Eldaran Florentine npc, which makes your character do a cool double-sword-spin animation. Illusia -Walk left and south from the start poiint to get to a stable, where you can get a ride-able dragon, which will allow you to travel quickly. -Further left is a theater, which is juust for fun. The movie lasts about 30 seconds. -Near the start point, youll findd a guard house where you can pick up the Illusia Pose npc, which makes your character float while carrying an ominous-looking scythe. Nymercia -Walk right from the start point to reaach the supply shop, where you can get a Tent npc. -Walk right and down from the start poiint to find the Guard house, where you can pick up the Nymercia Guard Pose npc. Mortistown (not done yet) Crystalline Island (not done yet) Volcano Island (not done yet) Main Quests 1st Heart (difficulty - easy) From Haven start point, head left and over the bridge and go into the cave. Kill the soldiers and take the paths in this order: left, right, right. In the next section, the baddies cannot be killed, so just avoid them. Go through the stairs in this order: top right, bottom right, top left. You will then be warped to a room with a chest containing a heart. 2nd Heart (difficulty - medium) From Haven start point, head south and jump in the water. Go left and then up and go into the waterfall. In the next few rooms, go around the enemies while dodging the balls being shot at you. (this is harder than it sounds, so expect to die a few times before reaching the boss) To move on to the next room, there are some walls that can be walked through. Just go through them to proceed. In the room before the boss, fireballs are also being shot around the room, so be careful. The boss is frustrating, so be patient. He has an attack pattern. Hell warp 3 times around the room and then stop for a moment. Dodge the balls while hes warping, and when he stops, run over and attack him. Hell then start warping again. Repeat this until youve beaten him. Once hes gone, youll be warped to a room with 3 chests - 2 one rupee chests and another heart. 3rd Heart From the Haven start point head north and cross the bridge. A little north and to the left, there is a blue castle. This quest is simple enough, just go from room to room, killing the guards. Be sure to pick up the two chests of one red gralat and one blue gralat in the small maze area. When I reached the boss, Fenrir, I was able to simply walk right past him and through the door to the heart. Im not sure if this is supposed to happen; if you have to fight him, though, he seems easy enough, so you shouldnt have too much trouble. Lvl. 2 Sword (not done yet) Lvl. 2 Gloves (difficulty - medium) From the Haven start point, go north until you reach the boxers house. Go in and up a room, get the boxing gloves, and step into the ring. The opponent has 9 hearts, and is very persistent, but not too hard when you realize that you just need good timing to defeat him. 18 well-timed hits (with lvl. 1 sword) will defeat him. You will then be warped to a room where you will be congratulated and given the Lvl. 2 Gloves. Miscellaneous Quests (not done yet) NPCs A list of all the npcs so far, and how to get them. (if it does not explain how to get an npc, then it has most likely already been mentioned) The number at the end of an npc text is the usefulness rating. (1-10) Stats: changes view screen style (3/10 those of you who dont like the new view screen style will find this essential, a 9/10) Bow & Bomb: just basic bow and bomb items (5/10 good to have for quests, but not much else) Recall Scroll: Allows you to return to the nation select screen (10/10 absolutely essential for all players who dont like wasting time traveling by foot) Battle Cry: Makes your character lift his sword and yell (2/10 not very impressive looking if youre trying to show off) Hats: give access to over 100 unique hats (7/10 hats are a fun way to make your character even more unique) Hackysack: displays a funny little animation of your character playing Hackysack (4/10 good for a little comic relief every now and then) Music: allows you to toggle music on/off (1/10 doesnt seem to work) Outfits: allows you to change clothes colors (i.e. darkblue shoes) and save or load outfits (say save outfit # to save current outfit and load outfit # to load a saved outfit) (9/10 a bit buggy occasionally when saving outfits, but otherwise yet another essential item) Illusia Pose: makes your character float while carrying an ominous-looking scythe (7/10 looks very cool and is excellent for showing off) Eldaran Florentine: makes your character do a cool double-sword-spin animation (3/10 looks okay, but not something thatll make others go, wow!) Fishing Rod: allows you to fish, one of many ways to make money on DD (10/10 youve got to make money somehow, dont you?) Laugh: makes your character laugh (4/10 funny for a little while, but quickly gets on your nerves) Emotions: gives a list of things you can say to change your characters animation (6/10 lots of emotions for your character that help express your feelings better) Boomerang: Shoots a boomerang that returns to you (2/10 doesnt seem to have much use) Mace: Character performs a mace attack (2/10 slow, weak power, and limited range) Nymercia Guard Pose: makes your character stand up straight, carrying a halberd (3/10 useful if youre trying to show that youre guarding something) Tent: Allows you to sleep in a tent and recover hearts (9/10 basically, its a portable bed) Win Pose: (requires: Lvl. 2 gloves) makes your character do a cool victory pose and sword spin while playing the victory music from Final Fantasy 7. Get by going through a blue portal south and left of the Haven start point, and go to a small portal nearby surrounded by rocks. Move the rocks and enter the portal to claim your prize. (6/10 a nice way to show off) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thats all for now. Ill add more later, but until then, have fun with this guide. Hope it helps you out! Got comments, questions, or suggestions?
