Kentucky Land Warrants, B-2, p.88, 5 June 1833. This land warrant for 50 acres shows Shelton
Brockman and neighbor with
his father-in-law Bazil Baker. Later land warrants show Burgess Baker as owning the property.

Washington Baker (b. 1819) is a son to a Bazel and Rachel (Vanwinkle) Baker.
Washington Baker married an Elizabeth Coyle on 14 December 1837, the bondsman was
Lewis Davis, son of Isaac Davis of Rockcastle County Kentucky.
Reason Baker is the first Baker to appear on the Madison County Tax Lists in 1790. Other
Bakers begin appearing on the 1800 Madison County Tax List: John Baker, Wansley
Baker, Bazil Baker, Joseph Baker, and Charles Baker. A Basil Baker is
found in Maryland in
the early
1780's. A Vachel Baker can also be found in Frederick Co. Maryland during the same
period as Basil.
A Vachel Baker is listed in 1800 Tax lists for Madison County Kentucky.
A Basil Baker, m. Ann Linch 25 November 1790 at Frederick County Maryland.
