It was a Friday evening in Las Vegas and Catherine and Grissom were packing their duffle bags for the road trip they were going on the next morning. Sara and her fianc� Greg were coming to pick them up in Sara's Tahoe while Nick and Warrick stayed back at the lab.
"Do you have everything you need for the trip?" Gil asked his wife as he held up a very slim and sexy piece of lingerie inside Catherine's duffle bag.
Catherine came back into the bedroom and noticed her nosy husband looking at her lingerie she packed that was suppose to be a surprise for him at the hotel they were going to stay at. Cath walked over to Gil, her newlywed and curious husband and ripped the surprise out of his hand. She then threw it back in the bag and gave him a kiss. She smiled and stated;
"Now darling you ruined your surprise for when were all alone in a hotel room." Catherine replied seductively and gave Gil another kiss.
Gil smiled. "Is this surprise like the one I received the night after the wedding party the guys threw us?" Gil asked mesmerized by her kiss.
"It would have been better; speaking of the guys did Nick ever find out what Sara said about her and David being a lie?" Catherine asked as she got into her side of the bed.
"I'm not sure I know he asked David and he denied everything. It was a great cover up and if he hadn't put the two and two together yet we should not be paying him for investigations." The couple laughed.
"And you left him in charge? I have a feeling when we get back we are going to have a lot of work to do"
"Actually Warrick is in charge"
"Either way we�re screwed because 1, they will make bet's about everything and 2 Warrick is a sexiest pig and Nick can't even figure out a simple thing like Sara lying let alone a murder or two"
Catherine turned off the light seeing that her husband was already a sleep and didn't even hear a word she just said. Grissom snuggled in beside his wife and placed his arm around her as they both drifted off to sleep.
The next morning the phone rang on the night table beside Catherine's beeping alarm clock. She sat up and answered the phone careful not to wake her husband sound asleep beside her.
"Hello" Catherine said in a groggy voice.
"Hey Cath! Sorry to wake you but road trip in one hour! I'll see you then! Chow!" Sara replied happily and hung up the phone.
"Good morning to you to Sara" Catherine said even though she knew that Sara wasn't on the line anymore. She then hung up the receiver and got out of bed,
An hour later Gil and Catherine were in Sara's Tahoe along with her fianc� Greg. They were heading towards nowhere�s land and decided to keep driving until they reached a motel.
"Sara pull in here" Catherine said when they came to a gas station.
"Why were not low on gas" Sara asked puzzled at why they stopped.
"It's the first sign of civilization for the past 20 miles, and I would like to get some food incase we don't see another gas station for awhile, or find a hotel" Catherine protested and hopped out of the car before the wheels stopped spinning.
"Cath wait up!" Greg called and jumped out of the truck. He almost rammed into a lady coming out of the store heading towards her car.
Sara smiled at her fianc�es stupidity and decided to stay in the car with Grissom. They sat in silence until Catherine and Greg returned with two bags of food in there arms, each.
"Gees guys, do you plan on hibernating or feeding a whole army?" Gil asked opening a bag of ketchup chips.
"Only if I'm hibernating with my Sarbear" Greg replied and gave his wife to be a kiss.
"Sir yes sir, feeding an army of hungry couples sir" Catherine said and faked saluted towards her husband and smiled. Everyone else went into a fit of giggles.
It was midnight and they still hadn't found a place to stay at yet. Sara was getting tired of driving and she would have passed it off to someone else but everyone was sleeping. Sara was beginning to fall asleep at the wheel and closing her eyes when she heard the honking of a horn. She opened her eyes and noticed she was on a head on collision with a transport. Its headlights blinded Sara and she jolted the truck to the right and slammed on the brakes on the side of the road. The jerk caused everyone to wake up and take a look around.
"Why did we stop?" Catherine asked wiping the sleep out of her eyes.
"Did we find a place to sleep?" Gil asked.
"Ah, no guys sorry to wake you but, we ah we almost got into a collision with a transport that's all, nothing to worry about." Sara replied her hands were still shaking.
Everyone's eyes got as big as saucers. They looked at Sara and she looked to be on the verge of crying. Greg undid his seat belt and put a reassuring arm around Sara's trembling body. Catherine was about to yell at her but then thought better of it. She got out of the truck and went around to the driver's door.
"Why don't' I drive for awhile until we find an abandoned parking lot or something and spend the night sleeping in the Tahoe. You and Greg can sleep in the backseat while Griss and I take the front seats,� Catherine instructed and they all obeyed.
Everyone switched seats and Catherine drove for about a half an hour when she spotted an abandoned parking lot. She pulled in there and parked the Tahoe. Everyone was already fast asleep so Catherine adjusted her seat and drifted off as well.
