"AMERICAN LIFE" is by far Madonna's riskiest album. Most of the songs on the CD are a strange mish mash of acoustic and techno, uncommercial and certainly posessing of very few radio-friendly cuts. "Hollywood", the second single, is a good choice as it is somewhat radio friendly yet at the same time an electic mix of musical styles. Thankfully mainly filler free, this album more than most other Madonna albums have many single worthy songs, including "Nothing Fails", the funky "Nobody Knows Me"; and the energetic, disco-driven (and fan favorite) "Mother & Father".
I give this album 8/10.
