Chapter 3

Georgie looked around the small cabin she and Dillon were renting and made sure that everything looked clean and neat. Jade might call Mac as soon as she realized who Lucy and Conner really were. Dillon, please!

Look, I doubt Jade is going to say anything. Im sure by now Mac has called everyone in Port Charles you know with money. He probably traced her accounts!

I know how Jade is. She helped a girl we went to school with and Jackie said that Jade actually walked through her room and took anything she though that Jackie could take to harm the baby

Dillon remembered hearing the story and smiled, Jackie was also addicted to pain killers.

Yeah, well, I dont want to give her reason to call Mac, or tell us no. she didnt tell Dillon, but she was relieved that someone would know where they were. Dillon had been calling Ned from various payphones on the border, but had said nothing about where they were living. If Jade knew where they were, and something happened, shed be able to contact them. Jades very good, and I know shell find the perfect parents for our baby.

I also told you we could keep the baby. Dillon was still confused that Georgie wanted to give the baby up. Adoption was your idea

Georgie said nothing, but knew he was right. Although both were still in school, Dillon would graduate in just a few months, and Georgie could finish school at home, with his help, but she knew that it wasnt fair to tie him down. I told you that this is the best thing for the baby.

They heard the doorbell and Georgie looked positively pale. Shes here.

Dillon knew he had to take control. Georgie had been overextending herself the past few weeks and he worried that she was going to make herself sick, or worse, hurt herself or the baby.

Opening the door, he saw Jades smile go into a shocked expression, and when she saw Georgie, the younger woman knew she was in trouble.

Do you realize that Mac and Maxie have been looking for you everywhere? What the hell are you doing in a cabin in the middle of the woods in Canada? Jade stopped and then answered her own question. Georgie, you could have come to me, or talked to Mac.

Hed have killed me, and then Dillon. Please! Dont call Mac! Georgie started crying and Jade looked at her frame. She wasnt yet showing, and from what Georgie had told her over the phone, most of the normal signs of pregnancy had stayed away to this point.

Touching her arm, Jade looked at her. I shouldnt do this, but I will, if you call Mac and tell him that youre alright. Hes so worried about you, Georgie. Everyone has been! Call him from the border, go to Vermont and call, but dont hurt him anymore.

Georgie nodded and agreed, We have to go to town and get some things. I guess well make a day of it

Thank you. Jade said, and then sat down. If I find out that you didnt call Mac, Ill tell him the truth.

Ill call! Georgie promised, as she sat down, but after a few seconds, she jumped and ran out of the room.

Dillon sat, his hands folded together, looking nervous. Shes been sick all morning.

Its normal. Itll get worse before it gets better. Jade took a small box from her briefcase. Some of my clients claim these work. They were wristbands for seasickness. Her doctor might be able to write her a prescription for some pills that help with the nausea. Jades eyes narrowed on the young man, She does have a doctor, doesnt she?

Theres a small town thirty miles from here with a good hospital and doctor

At thirty weeks, Ill pay for you two to move to that town. Jade said. Thirty miles is too far away.

Dillon agreed, but Georgie had worried that someone would find them unless they were in total seclusion. I can handle that.

Jade looked at him and decided to be honest with him. Your mother came back after you two ran away. She thought that Zander and Emily had influenced you too much. Jade smiled. She even tried to blame me.
