Oil on canvas. 12 March 1993. 12 x 16" Private Collection, Seattle. After spending much time working on large paintings oil on canvas, the artist tried to capture the feel of a large scale painting in a small format. Several works date from this time and all incorporate the picture elements seen here: Patterned, overlapping, and (mostly) hard-edged objects freely moving in space. Note the range of color values (light to dark) that provide depth to the painting, and the comingling of colors from the same hue on the objects. |
