Ink, acrylic and crayon on gesso on paper.  24 August 1977.  14 x 20 1/2."  Private Collection, Washington.   A gesso surface is the foundation for many layers of wax crayon that build-up a thick color surface in this work.  The crayon was then carved into to create the linear forms and then later filled-in with ink.
