| 17/9/01 We had a couple of good shows lately. First Mingara. That gig was fun. It was the first gig that we have had for sometime that was not a comp. So we really enjoyed ourselves. THe nature of the event was a walkathon so the audience was hard to gauge. But when Heidi and I were at a pizza place afterwards a nice lady came up to us and said that the general crowd enjoyed it and that it didn't go unoticed so that was nice. We had a good time though as we really enjoy playing together lately. Plus the guys that did the sound were great. They took the time to set things up well and it paid of. Also they were really fun and it helped with the vibe. The foldback sounded great too. Toukley band comp. That was a great day to. The bands that we saw (We had to leave not long after we played for other commitments) we of a very fine calibre. Drew and Chris your band has a future so stick with it. A little more polish and you will be cool. We got through to the final but not without drama. We got docked marks for the use of the word "shit" in one of our songs. We are not mad as the outline for the gig was no offensive language but we felt a little hard done by compared to some of the other bands and their choice of topics. But the organisers have to have a standard so they have to stick to it. The final is next sunday at Mingara so come if u are on the Central Coast. Cam. Next page |
