| Hey Hey, 31st of May Last night we won the semi-final of the University of Newcastle band comp. That means we are in to the Grand final for the first time. We are really happy to have made it because all the bands that we played with were so good. Anycrap, we will be playing @ the end of July. We have been writing some more tunes and they are improving with each song. I can't wait until the radio show so we can demo some of them and get some airplay for the others. See Ya!!!! Cam |
| Hello, 22/6/01 It's been a while. The radio show the other night on 2Nur went really well. I don't know if there were alot of people listening but it was loads of fun and we met some really nice people who seemed enthusiastic about the band. I hope to get an mp3 of one of the tunes on mp3.com.au so keep an eye out. We are making a return to Ettalong tomorow night and that should be fun. See ya soon Cam |
| Hello All, 24/6/01 Last night @ Ettalong was once again an interesting event. We were in the second round of the band comp and the first band Knock Down Ginger played. They were prety good however the p.a wasn't picking up there voices so it was hard to hear them properly. After that we went on. We played for about 20 minutes and were getting a nice crowd response. (Especially from an ex-Don Lane dancer) We were playing well and were really strating to get warm and then a guy had to stop us. Unfortunatly up the back of the pub a lady started having fits. So we stopped for ages. The publican decided that it was only fair to halve the money and that both bands were to go through to the semi finals. Thinking that we weren't able to finish. However once the ambulance came and took care of her we went back on for another half hour and we smoked. The crowd were loud and really dug what we were doing and there were people who bought our cd from last time that were singing along to our songs. Super Sweet. I think we made some new friends. | Hey Hey!!! 8/7/01 We played Joe's Garage last night and it was really really really... fun. We had a nice turn out and sold a couple of cds so that makes us happy. At this point I have to say that Greg Nunan was fucking awesome. That guy can sing. Plus the Fetal Mishaps rock! They make punk music fresh. (They must have stored in tupperware) Umina Town!!!!!!! We will probably be back @ Joe's in about a month with the Fetals so keep an eye out. It WILL be a good night out. They are great guys and we enjoyed some drinks with them after the show last night and they fun to hang with. Next gig's back at Ettalong for the semi final of the band comp there. We have been getting a good response from the people there so hopefully that will continue. Until next time I've been Cameron Singh... Good night!!! |
| 20th of July We Won!!! That's right last night we won the Newcastle uni band comp. That was really cool. Considering the judges comments. (I'll post some later) If we were the 'best' I'd like to know what they thought of the other 5 bands in the final. Anyway we won 2 days recording in a "real" studio in Sydney, 500 pressings of that on cd, a support at the uni for a signed band and we go on to the state final on August 31st. Let's just say that we are excited @ the moment. Plus Dick played awesome last night. One of the judges wrote great double kick playing. Dick only has one pedal? As for me and Heidi the responses were mixed. I sung great according to 1 judge and another said I was crap. (I believe that later) Heidi had both great bass and shit house bass. You can see why we don't pay alot of attention to them. That's not to say we don't listen. We just please ourselves and if they like then we are lucky. Last night we were lucky... Cam |
