| June 29 1:50am Just got home from a totally smokin show in Balmain. We had the dubious task of opening for two great Funk Bands and we were on early. After a rough start with some bass tech issues we got our shit together and performed one of tightest shows we have played in a while. We debuted a new tune called the Cringe with a full Blink182 breakdown in the middle. With the sellout section in mind it went over very well. Probably the best response for a new song since Pixie. The crowd was well huge and by the end of the set they were sooo loud. Cheering all the way through songs and there were some major yells for Dick and Heidi during I'm Sick as well as a mega response to my solo in Biting Again. (Ranked very high on our stiffy meters) Heidi almost had a 2 fights, I saw some boobies from a belly dancer we made some $$$. It was a killer night. The best part was the boobs. Cam June 23 Hey fukers, suk on Go to Fukin Bed Jessica!!! Today we played a show at Newcastle TAFE. It was ok but not the place for a really loud rock band. Somewhere along the way we were not informed that it was an acoustic show only...thus the person who contacted us got into a lot of trouble. The show was ok and hopefully it will get us a good slot during the music festival later this year. It was in a court yard and we looked directly into the sun, but it beat working today! A film crew from NBN television were there so we will get a bit of an airing on tv tonight as well. Goodo Cam June 15 We had such a big night last night at the Grand Hotel. We did 3 sets of hits and misses. We don't usually do this kind of show but they are really fun and special for the people who come and see us alot as they get to see a new side of GTBJess. When we do 3 sets we do have to pad the set with a lot of covers. But the cool thing about that is we refuse to do trendy covers and stick to the songs that we love or influence us. Thus there were tunes like "Fairies wear boots" by Sabbath,"Ziggy Stardust"by David Bowie, U2, Cheap Trick, INXS and a couple of others. We also played ALL of our good tunes which were getting responses as good as the covers. The pub was pleased with the turn out and hopefully we can improve with each show. My voice hurts... Cam June 10 Hello Last night we made an appearance on 2CCC radio. It was really alot of fun. We performed 2 tunes acoustically which was a real change from anything we have done before. We chose to do a smooth arrangement of "Pixie" as well as another tune called "I Want You". Because it was a community station the means to perform were restricted but I think we did alright. Afterwards we had an on air chat about what we have been doing and hopefully cleared up why the cd took so long to record. But hey! It's done. It was mastered last week at Studio 301 and we are pleased with the results. A new version of Pixie will be available on mp3 in the coming days. We are just waiting on it's "approval" Cam May 30 What a great show we had last night. We played to a huge crowd at the Bull n Bush with Mesha. We had a huge improvement from last weeks show. Last week our energy was like a 3 year old holding a fire hose, but this week was a focused animal. Except for a string snappage we were tight and going hard. I really enjoyed the show and so did the other guys. Thanx to both Jarreds for their help last night plus Craig from Fullride20" for doing a killer light show. It really made for some cool rock show images. Cam May 24 Howdy. We did a show last night at the Cambridge at Newcastle. It was great to be playing in the big room. It has a better stage and the vibe is a lot more rock than the pokie room of the past. We played with a local act called Twin Psyche who were having their ep launch/farewell...only in Newcastle... Our set was...interesting. Started off fine. Krefty was pulling a great sound we blasted into "Buffy" then into "always the bridesmaid" About half way through its intro Heidi collided with my headstock and knocked all but one string out of tune. I had to play the rest of the song on 1 string. Lucky it was a low one. That stunted our entry cause I had to stop and re-tune. But we got things pumping after that. All of our cds went again and we had alot of positive feedback from the crowd after the show. One guy said we had a great drummer but didn't like our kind of "punk" then another said we were sooooo 80's. Chalk and Cheese. Overall the vibe was cool and we had a good night. Cam Next Page Index |
