| 22/9/02 Hello. Yesterday I got to judge the 3rd round of the live 'n' raw band competition. As you may know, we were last years winners so we got invited back this year to judge. Let me say that the state of coast music is really good. Each band no matter what style they were believed in themselves. There were alot of punk bands and bands that were kinda like silverschair but they are still finding their groove. You never know where your influences will take you. 4 bands went through to the final andthey were Sarah Griesser, Bunson, No Exit and Acetone. A rather diverse mix that will make for a good final. We will also be playing at the final as last years winners and I wish the best of luck to all those involved. Cam 20/9/02 Hey kids. I have decided to write to you all and let you know what's been happening. Over the past 2 week we have been hitting the studio to finalise some demos of songs that may be recorded for our upcoming e.p. So far the results of the sessions are sounding huge. At this point it is the best sounds we have tracked. We are working on 2 tunes, Something Special and a new one called I Want You that is yet to be played live. Dick has certainly pounded the drums on these tracks and let me add that a couple of Marshall stacks can only be a good thing. We are doing these demos at Peter Kreft's Kreftorium Studio in Newcastle and he has really been putting a great effort for us. He is a great guy. You may know his name from the radio broadcast demo that we passed around about a year ago. If everything goes to plan you will be hearing these sessions in about 2 weeks. FIST!!! \m/ Cam 14/9/02 Wellity Wellity Wellity. Well...we played our first show at the Harp in Tempe last night and was not a bad gig at all. The band played well and there was a really nice crowd there as well. Some people had travelled quite some way to see us which is really cool. We did get told that we were too loud. What this TOO LOUD? I don't understand those words. Could someone please help me out? But the venue is going to book us again and we shall be back in November. Party on Wayne. Cam 8/9/02 Howdy. It's great to be back. Last night we did a show at Joe's Garage with Refuse the Mark and I believe it was an ok gig. There was a nice sized crowd for us to play to and we had alot of fun. However we did have some pa problems but this is rock n roll and not some kind of reading at the school of teen poetry. We do have to thank Michael Peter and Sarah Griesser for coming through for us at the last minute and playing some amazing music. The highlight of the show for us was that Shannon from the Fetal Mishaps came to the show and Joe's Garage got to hear "Umina Town" again as sung by the man who wrote it. We also made friends with some totally cool dudes who work across the road at the Tattoo Shop. We hung out with those crazy cats until sunrise and thought it was about time then for a little shut eye so we went home. By far one of the most fun nights I have had in a while. Thanx guys. CYA Cam August 31 Another show at the Tall Timbers last night. It was good to play again. It felt like the longest 2 weeks. We made a few changes to our set which we tried out last night. First we have started to tune down. (don't worry we haven't turned Nu Metal) Just half a step to make the vocals a bit easier. It has also given us a little more heavy so that can't hurt. We have also added a bass solo into the set for Heidi to play whilst I change guitars. (I realise Heidi would have to play it, who else would? Dick?) I think it went well and it is a nice way for her to show off a little. I have got the flew so my singing was not all it could be last night. I was very croaky but I think the band played well. We even chucked in War Pigs for some added spice. (After Rob suggested it). All in all it was not a bad gig and we are going to go hard for the next ones. Cya Cam NEXT PAGE Index |
