| I chose a change of background because it is what Frank would have wanted June 15 Hey people. Last night was another show at Tallies. Not a bad crowd out to see 4 local bands. Unfortunatly I missed the 1st band so I cant say anything about them. However we did see the Fix and they rocked. Good old style rock without getting stuck with the overdone boring cliches of the style. We liked 'em so much that we offered them a gig with us the next weekend at Ettalong. Then there was Bonic. They rocked pretty hard last night which is good to see. Unfortunatly Luke was suffering from a cold but I didn't see it as much of a problem though. I still enjoyed their set. We were on last and it was pretty late so the friends of the other bands seemed to dwindle. But still there was about 30ish people who stayed and we did our best. We were a bit sloppy last night, but I still think it was ok. We played Berzerkin' in the Basin last night which we don't usually do. I think it went well. Thanx heaps to our roadies last night. You made the whole process heaps quicker and it really helps us. Thanx boys. CYA!!! Cam 9th of June We played at Joe's Garage last night. There was a really good size crowd there to see some local bands and it is great to know that some people do care. I thought we played ok last night. Not as good as usual though. Heidi broke a string in the second song. That is the 3rd string this year....maybe 4. I think she has a problem ;-) I couldnt get a vibe happening last night so I felt kinda wierd but I still think we put on a strong show. It was great to see a mosh pit again, I almost connected skulls with one of them. There was no blood this time which was a shame....but Timmy did make an appearence. See ya next week Cam 2nd of June 00:45am Hello! Some updates on the last 2 shows. Tallies on Friday was ok....when I say ok I mean unreal!!! A good friend of ours brought a guitar for me to play. Now you say what is so good about that? The I say, it was an exact replica of Randy Rhoads's polka dot guitar. I played a tribute an it and it amde me happy. Other than that the crowd was pretty small but we played well and added some stuff to the set you usually would not see. Tonight we played Ettalong Pub again. When we got there it was empty and we thought what a waste of time but by the time we went on it was almost full. That was very cool.We played well and the new gear is sounding unreal! We played all our favorites as well as Umina Town! (We have to keep the dream alive) Anyway, ther is nothing special to report really except we had a good time. See ya next weekend Cam 25th of May Hey kids! What's going on on your side of the screen? We had an all ages show last night at the Oasis centre Wyong. Not a bad gig but they need to upgrade the pa a little. It's a small yet noisy room so when you are a loud band like us or Tone Orange (who played last night as well) it doesnt do you any favours. The overall tone is very muddy and a bit yuk. But hey at least the venue is trying to do stuff for the youth in these parts. I think the rain kept some away as the average under 18 does not have a car and would rather not trench though cold rain to watch some bands they don't really know...yet. I really liked Tone Orange's set. I am listening to their demo now and it's pretty happening I hope to do more shit with them soon. After the show Heid's and I went to the Tallies to see who was playing. We caught the end of Bonic's set and all of Micheal Peter's. Both very happening bands in their own way. We had a chat with Micheal after his show and he is doing good and should have a finalised band soon (half of his band last night were Bonic) so he is gunna tear some shit up soon. We will be there next week to play so I will be back after that. Cam 19th of May Sorry I was so late with a gig update but Yahoo had closed for 2 days so I couldn't write to you. Anycrap, we had an average gig last friday night in Newcastle. We found out when we got there that we were head lining. Which if we knew earlier we would have advertised. It put our starting time back to about 11. But because of delays the first band did not start until after 10, which put our playing time back to well after 12. Thus by the time we went on the crowd had dwindled substantially. However we still put on a strong show for the 30 or so people that stayed. The feedback was good after the show so we felt we did alright. I just hope that next time we get a better slot. Especially in a town where we are unknown. Cam Next page of diary entries Index |
