| 11/5/02 Had a GREAT show last night at Tall Timbers Ourimbah. I think it was the biggest crowd we have played there. Any way we came out hard from the first tune. (we had a nice warm up gig earlier in the night at Wyong) The crowd was one of the loudest we have ever experienced. We played all our faves, Pixie, Biting again etc as well as a cover of Samurai. Any crap Garry Beers was there and we had a good chat about shit before we went on. (He was playing in the band supporting us last night....how cool is that?) We were really keen to impress the man as he had heard about us but never seen us. He and Heid's got on great (must be a bass player thing) and they talked for ages. After he came off he accidently put his stuff on top of Heidi's and she said "Hey Garry, your head is on my box" to which both got very embarrassed and he then replied with "Well that just flew my skirt up". He also said that due to family commitments he could not stay for the whole set, he could see the 1st few songs. He ended up staying for the whole set. He even watched us cover don't change which was a real honour for us. We had a great and receptive crowd last night. We had a nice and violent mosh pit cranking with some wholesome psycho's hurting each other. We even had a bleeder. BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR!!! We did add a special song for a friend of ours that turned up. His name is Tim and he jumped on stage for a dive but stood there between songs so I broke in to the Lords of the Underworlds classic "TIMMY" to which the crowd joined in. Thank you South Park for affecting society and the name timmy. Any way we had a blast last night and wanna thank everyone who came for our show. It was fun for all involved. Cam 7/5/02 I finally have a chance to update you on saturday nights gig. Well it was a tough one....it was Toukley RSL again. (I didnt think they'd ask us back after last time) Here is the deal with Toukley....you get paid good money for 3 sets. Thus we had to bite the bullet and play alot of covers with our own stuff which we try to promote. However we dont play by the rules of covers and learn the new hip trendy songs (Creed) or the stalwarts of a cover band set (The Doors) we choose to fuck things up a little. We chose to add covers by bands that we like thus we enjoy playing them. Songs like "Umina Town" by our great friends and now disbanded Fetal Mishaps, Samurai by a band called Handsome Devil from the USA that no one here would hear of as they dont have stuff released on our shores (Thank u internet for that find) as well as many other hits in our world. Therefore the average person at the venue did not take kindly to us. But a funny thing happened in the 3rd set. The dance floor was covered with people dancing. (There were a few well known songs in this set) They even danced to Pixie which was great. I even saw a group of girls singing along. So all was ok. Except for me totally losing my voice and having today off work as a result. Cameron "I cant talk but I can type" Singh 5/5/02 1:00pm I am fucked. I have totally lost my voice after last night. It is all gone and I hope it comesback soon. I dont have time right now to tell you about the gig. I will later. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEIDI. It's your last year as a rowdy teen. Cam 3/5/02 Played @ Tallies again last night. There was not a bad size crowd there to see us, so we felt good. I think we performed well for them however Dick is really sick so he couldn't be the best....but he was still pretty damn good I reckon... Rob from CCRStudios did a kick ass job as usual and we have to thank Garry Garry Beers for organising the events for central coast bands. Cam Anzac Day 2002 Just did our 1st of 4 gigs at Tall Timbers tonight and I think we did well. The shows there have been organised with Garry Garry Beers from INXS, Central Coast Rehearsal Studios and Voyager Music to showcase local rock on the Central Coast. Tonights turn out was pretty good. The first band did nicely however their mix was not all that good. (Its a brand new pa so the 1st band to ever use it had to get all the bugs...unlucky guys) The feedback I got was that it was way better when we played (Thanx Rob u legend). We played very tight tonight. I dont think we were as animated as usual but our musicianship was the best it has been in a while. We had some loyal followers there and it is always great to play for those guys. I really mean it, they make a gig soooo worth while. Even for the pay we get. ;-p So thanx heaps. I think we made some new friends but I cant be sure, most of the crowd were there to see the bands that they came for, but we had a good crowd and maybe won a few over. The last band MP Live I thought were VERY radio friendly, I think they will do well with some airplay. Not really my cup of tea though, but I am only 1 person. There will be alot of people out there who will like them so good luck. If you like Matchbox20 with a twist you will probably like them. I thought their mix tonight was superb. We hit a studio on Sunday to record a demo of Sleepy. It will be the 1st time we have recorded it NOT live so I will be interested to see how it goes as we plan to put on a single with Pixie. On a proper recording, this will be a practice run. We are back at Tallies next week as well as Toukley RSL on the following Saturday night. I CANT WAIT!!!! I love playing with these guys. :-) Cam Next Page Index |
