| 21/4/02 We had an ok gig at Joes Garage last night. Unfortunatly the crowd was not as big as usual but we put on a good show for the 50 or so people that came. The overall set went good I thought. The new song "something special" was alright. We played it quite sloppy so we will see how it goes on Thursday. Heidi hurt herself on the drum kit which was very rock of her. Some medicinal ales after the show helped with the pain but now she has a bruised backside. ;-) Element59 did a great job for their 1st gig ever. Yet again there is going to be another great band emerging form the coast. Of course Fulride20" rocked....but we would not expect any less of those guys. Plus Sarah Griesser, she had a great voice and I am soooo sorry about kicking your lead out it was an accident. And lets not forget about Rob from ccrstudios he came in at the last moment with his pa when we needed him. You are truly a guardian angel. We are playing at Tall Timbers this thursday and I think it will be a kick arse night. Once again full of great local bands. Cam 16/4/02 Great news my friends. After years of playing a guitar I have finally gotten me a real Les Paul. It sounds awesome and I cant wait until the next show to play it live. I thought I should comment on the live and raw cd that has just come out with us on it. The overall cd sounds good but we are a bit disapointed in our songs on there. I dont know who mixed it but they forgot that we have a bass player in the band. There is no bass at all in the mix. Heaps of guitars but no bass. (I don'y why I should complain about that ;) ) So we are a bit unhappy with it. If there is a next time I think we shall be present for the mix. The overall disc is pretty good and I do have to thank Oasis for the oppurtunity they have done something very positive for the local scene. Now all we have to do is to get all the bands to stop bitchin' behind each others backs and we would all be sweet. My theory is you dont get anywhere making enemies. A1NINJA's song is kinda cool but once again the mix isn't great. So is the song by the band that used to be called Lucy Oh well enough of my bitchin' CYA at Joe's Cam 13/4/02 We did 2 shows last night and 1 of them went well for us but had no one there and the other had techincal difficulties and there were people there.....but they still liked us. ;) The 1st show was at Wyong for a cd launch. There was no promotion for us as we only got put on the bill as of last Wednesday so we did not expect a crowd of our own. We thought here might have been some people there....but there wasn't. But it was all cool. There was a good pa and lights. But things like all ages shows will only get better. U have to start from the bottom and work you way up. After that show we had to head to Newcastle. It took ages for us to go on as there were problems with one of the mics. We ended up doing our best and the crowd appreciated it. I think we did good even though you could not hear Heidi at all and there was a constant feedback issue with the pa. Other dramas of the evening was when between shows Dick got hit in the neck with an ocky strap by his brother who doubles as drum roady. Lets just say it left a welt and some swear words reverberating through Wyong. But all is good and we look forward to next week at Joe's Garage. Cam 24/3/02 12:32am Just got back from a show at Ettalong pub. We had one of those magic moments tonight that we could not have done even if we planned it. Like usual, we played War Pigs, as we always play it at Ettalong pub. The fans there really like it. But during the last solo section I started playing the fast solo bit out of Led Zep's Dazed and Confused. Before I knew it the whole band joined in and we had a severe time change. I was thinking "How the Fuck are we gunna get back into War Pigs to finish the song or are we gunna keep playing Dazed and Confused...I dont know the end of it." Then we had the moment, as if we had played it a 1000 times before... SNAP!!!! we were back into War Pigs. It was the coolest musical live experience I have ever been apart of. I have to thank Heids and Dick for being such complete musicians and we really bonded at that moment. It felt really special. I hope we never do that again other wise that moment wont be as good. Fullride20" but on a strong show. (even though they snapped a string...karma?) They thought they were not as good as usual tonight but I talked to heaps of people after their show and they said they liked them. (even my sister liked them and she is a harsh judge) Well done guys. You did play pretty good no matter what you think. As for our whole set. I thought we played well. We had a thing to prove with ourselves after last weeks show so it felt good to exorcise that demon. The crowd responded well to our songs so all was good. I'm pumped and cant wait until the next show. Good night Cam Next Page |
