(These apply to all Silver Mist channels!)
1. Advertising, excessive zooming, chatting in XXX channels, or other offensive/distracting/annoying behavior is not permitted while in our clearing. Away/mp3 msgs, and autogreets are permitted only in #WolfMist_OOC, but not excessively. 2. Wolves are not required to be in the OOC clearing at all times, however if a wolf calls an OOC meeting at any time, all wolves present in the clearing are to attend. All OOC conversations take place in the OOC room, #WolfMist_OOC. OOC is permitted up to 5 lines in #Wolfmist, only for stuff pertaining to RP, marking idle/back, correcting typos, etc. 3. We are a nature-based roleplay wolfpack. We expect everyone in the clearing to behave as wolves and do nothing that wolves cannot do.
4. Characters must be purely realistic, having no abnormally colored fur or eyes. No male wolf will be over 5'6" long (most are between 4' and 5'5"), nor will any female be over 5' long (most are less than 4'5"). No wolf will stand over 3' tall. No male wolf shall weigh over 170 lbs (most weigh between 75 and 125), nor will any female wolf weigh over 100 lbs (most weigh between 55 and 90). Do not bring non-realistic characters into our clearing. 5. Human characters will be immediately kicked and banned WITHOUT RP. Then wolf RP will be explained to them in an msg, and they may return as a wolf if they wish. No human characters may be roleplayed. 6. No one may change the topic but Alphas, Betas and Gammas, unless with permission from an Alpha, Beta, or Gamma. 7. In the OOC room, if someone is offended by a topic (such as drugs, sex, death, religion, politics) and requests that you drop it, do so. 8. Sexually vulgar words such as dick, cock, pussy, cunt, and fuck are not allowed, when used alone or as part of another word (such as mother fucker or cocksucker). Hell is not allowed, as wolves would never have had the oppertunity to learn that word since they do not have religion. All other words are acceptable. 9. You may be removed from the channel for arguing and/or having an attitude problem. 10. If you plan to idle for more than 10 minutes, you must be marked as away. If you plan to idle at a pack meeting for any amount of time, you must be marked as away. Breakage of these results result in kick, ban, and then possibly an AKickwithout roleplay. Only one warning will be given.
1. Arguing in the clearing will result to an immediate kick/ban; take it to private message. 2. Fighting Rules
3. Disrespect towards anyone will NOT be tolerated, and anyone who is disrespectful will be chased out (kicked and banned), possibly attacked, depending on the severity of the circumstances. Disrespect may be suggested through words, actions, fight-provoking body language, and anything else that threatens or insults another. 4. Do not "poach" our members, assessments or possible assessments (meaning do not recruit lone wolves to join your pack in our clearing). You will be chased out (kicked and banned) for doing so. Members of our pack who scout for new recruits in other clearings will be warned, demoted, possibly even restricted to the clearing. 6. Animals besides wolves are allowed in the clearing but may be killed and eaten. 7. Deceitfulness of any kind from visitors may result in being chased out (kick/ban), even banishment, depending on the severity of the circumstances. 8. Threats made by visitors in our clearing may result in being chased out (kick/ban) or attacked.
1. Any member who exists in another pack under any name will have their membership immediately terminated. Wolves may have only two characters within the pack and only with Alpha permission. Only one of these characters may hold a rank higher than Hunter. Both may mate with Alpha permission, but special circumstances such as prolonged courtship and restrictive breeding may apply. 2. Alphas, Betas, and Gammas are the only wolves allowed to enforce rules or issue consequences. Anyone else who does this, unless a high-ranked wolf is not present, will be overstepping their rank. Subordinates do not enforce rules, argue with, or lecture their superiors; they take any issues up with a council member. 3. Meetings will be held weekly and are mandatory for everyone, unless a valid excuse is given prior to the meeting. Any wolf who does not show up for two consecutive meetings without a valid excuse will be temporarily demoted and placed on probation. 4. Any wolf whose nickname expires after a 30-day period will be removed from the pack. If they return later with a valid explanation, they may undergo assessment again. An LOA may be taken to preserve membership, but any wolf taking an LOA of more than three months must resign to packmate. 5. Ranks: Elders must be at least six years-old. Alphas, Betas and Gammas must be at least two. Guardians, Sentinels, and Hunters must be a year old. The age requirement for all other ranks is ten months. Training for each rank is one to two weeks to start (but lasts until trainer feels trainee is prepared) and is required for these ranks: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Guardian, Sentinel, Shaman. Wolves may train during assessment with alpha permission. Ranks will have an equal number of males and females, unless an equal M/F combination is not an option at the time. 6. Wolves born into the pack are full members at the age of ten months and may begin training for ranks; until then, they are under complete control of the pack. 7. If a member is not in the clearing and his prescense is requested by a ranked member, that member must come to the clearing unless they are AFK or busy with something of some degree of importance. 8. Anytime a lone wolf or pack call on our pack for assistance, help will be given. 9. At meetings, do not speak unless the person hosting the meeting has given permission for packmates to speak (as when voting or having an open discussion about a specific topic) or has given you permission to speak as an individual. (The proper way to notify them that you have something to say is to wag your tail.) 10. Both Alphas must agree on the following subjects: courtings, matings, punishments, initiations, demotions, promotions, banishments, and any changes concerning rules. They decide on these issues together before the pack votes. 11. All votes taken will be anonymous and majority, unless overruled by the Alphas and/or council. A wolf must be present at the pack meeting to vote or have cast their vote in advance with a council member. 12. Deceitfulness of any kind will not be tolerated. 13. Threats made by a member towards anyone, in or out of our clearing, will not be tolerated. 14. Any wolf who kills another without just cause, in or out of our clearing, will lose their membership and be possibly banished. 15. Any cubs born on our territory may, if they and their parents wish, call themselves Silver Mist pack members. 16. All council members and pups shall be accompanied by a Guardian when visitting other clearings, unless none are around. 17. Sister Packs: Alphas/Betas of a sister pack pack will be given ops in our clearing, and members will be given a voice (+). They are to be treated like Honored Guests. 18. Those who threaten to quit on more than one occasion during any a season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) OR on more than three occasions during any year will be expelled and will have to enter assessment again. 19. When there are 34+ members who are capable of holding rank, only ONE of a person's characters may hold a rank. 20. When training a wolf, you must quiz them about the material and provide information to the council members about the progress of the training once a week. Additionally, council will quiz packmates randomly about pack customs to ensure that packmates understand pack ways. Breakage of these rules can result in the termination of membership, demotion, probation, banishment, or any other punishment the Alphas and/or council see fit. Punishment will depend upon a situation's severity.
1. Do not speak while another wolf is presenting. Actions are acceptable. 2. Wait until the end of a presentation to ask any question or make any comments. 3. Do not make rude remakes about others' work. You wouldn't like it if it were you. 4. All works of poetry/stories MUST be PG-13, suitable for those under 18! 5. Only Alphas, and Betas may enforce these rules, or in their abscenses, a Gamma. Only these wolves may host a Lore Night as well. 6. To present you will first inform the host of the lore night you have something to present. When the host tells you that you may present, go up to the middle of the clearing and present. When you are done, sit down back where you were before you were presenting. 7. What may be presented: anything that concerns IC things; pack histories, wolf histories, a made up story of passed characters ECT. If it is an OOC presentation the host allows the following may be presented: poems, stories, anything not rated R or above. 8. There will be a lore night every other month. (We will alternate between lore nights and OOC nights every other month.)
1. Though a single wolf may bring down a large predator, we require wolves to hunt in, at least, threes for large game. 2. We do not take more than what we need from the forest. If the cache is full, no one shall hunt. A list of how long an animal will feed the pack follows: One Day: Badger, Mtn Sheep, Mtn Goat, Fawn; Two Days: Doe, Boar ; Three Days: Buck, Calves of large animals; Four days: Elk, Moose, Caribou, Ox; Five days: Bison 3. Visitors may not hunt on our territory or eat from our cache unless they have permission of an Alpha, Beta, or Hunter. Visitors who do will be chased out of the clearing. 4. Killing of prey will be done quickly and with the least brutality possible; its cruel to torture prey before eating it. 5. Wolves will howl out of respect for the animal they have just killed, in thanks for animal's sacrifice in sorrow for the loss, and in hope that the animal's journey to the next world is successful. Wolves who do not howl for their kill are not allowed to eat their kill. 6. Pups and wounded will eat first, as it is our duty to protect the defenseless. If you eat before the pups and wounded, you may be made to eat last at the next hunt or whatever other punishment the hunter sees fit to give. 7. Pups may accompany the pack at hunts at three months without hunting. During their fourth month, they may hunt small game, accompanied. During the sixth month, they may hunt it unaccompanied and begin hunting larger game, accompanied. At eight months, they hunt actively with the pack. 8. Wolves usually hunt and kill only injured, weak, or sick animals. They may eat small, healthy animals, or even fruits and berries. 9. Hunting shall be done in #wolfwood if it may possibly interrupt a roleplay plot. Constant breakage of these rules may result in hunting probation or other punishments, given by a hunter. Wolves on hunting probation may not hunt, or may only do so with supervision.
2. Alphas will be notified when a member of their pack is banished from our clearing and also will be notified if a banned member of their pack visits our clearing. 3. Someone who does things out of RP that are inacceptable will simply be AKICKed: banned from even entering the clearing and exiled from our RPG. 4. Permanent bans must be voted on by the entire pack, and temporary bans may be placed only by council members. 5. Upon being banished, the wolf will be notified and given a chance to defend his or her actions at a mock trial. Click here for a list of banished wolves.
2. Wolves must ask Alphas at a pack meeting before courting, becoming mates, or breeding. 3. There will be a limit of two pregnant females at all times. 4. Wolves may only have one litter per year to strengthen bonds between parents and offspring and to ensure no couple takes on more than they can handle. 5. A couple may not breed again until they have players for their previous litter, and it is the responsibility of the entire pack to help scout for players. 6. Contrary to popular belief, wolves do not necessarily mate for life and may change mates from season to season. However, two wolves no longer wishing to be mated must discuss the reasons at a meeting in hopes of salvaging the relationship. Pups stay with the mother, unless she is neglectful. 7. Breeding must be realistic.
8. Wolves related through adoption or mating, but not by blood, are permitted to mate. 9. Mating season is now from December 15 to June 15, and pups will be born from February 22 to August 22 (give or take a few days). Arctic wolves generally breed later than other species (ground is often frozen, making it hard to dig a den, which is not an issue here). 10. Couples may only have as many pups as they can find players for, and any cublets without players after the age of two months must be killed off. By the time of birth, if the couple doesn't have at least one roleplayer to play a pup, the female must miscarry, or the pups must be still-born. 11. Courtship will last one month, except in special circumstances. Breakage of these rules can result in the matehood being terminated or pups being considered nonexistant.
2. Their eyes open and are blue between 11 and 14 days. 3. At three weeks, they can hear, begin exploring the den, and start growing their milk teeth. 4. At four weeks (one month), they begin leaving the den regularly, eating meat, and even howling; they weigh 5-6lbs. 5. At six weeks, they may travel up to a mile from the den with parents. 6. Between 6-8 weeks (almost two months), they are weaned completely and moved to the rendezvous site. They weigh between 15-20 lbs. 7. At three months, pups may visit other clearings, accompanied by an 18 month old pack member or a parent. 8. Between their four month to the middle of their six month, their milk teeth are replaced. 9. At six months old, pups may visit other clearings unaccompanied. At this time, if they are the offspring of out-of-pack matings or divorced parents, they may leave the pack only to join their other parents' pack. 10. At 7 or 8 months, they closely resemble adults. 11. At two years, they are considered adults.
'Grounding' refers to prohibiting any wolf, usually a pup, from leaving the clearing. 'Probation' refers to a wolf being: denied ops, denied say in pack affairs, demoted to Omega, and sometimes grounded or restricted from hunting as a result of constant rule breakage or disrespect. |
