Alicorn Amarante was born to the alpha pair of the Crystal Moons pack in August of 97, Sapphira and CrimsonStar Amarante, part of their third litter. One day, the adults went hunting, leaving their son Malachite (named so for his mysterious green eyes) to protect the pups. There was a noise within the forest, and Malichite went to investigate. While he was gone, a rabid mountain lion attacked the pups. They howled and yipped for help, and Malachite returned as quickly as possible to defend them. He ordered the pups to run, but only Alicorn was capable of walking. Malachite died trying to defend his younger siblings, who sadly died anyway, and Alicorn took off into the forest.
It didn't take her long to find her parents and older siblings. They had heard the noises from within the clearing and were on there way there, having abandoned their hunt. The small family was, after that day, much smaller. The alphas and their remaining children, Alicorn, FirE^Wolf, AngelWolf, Rubyna, and Topaz. They mourned the deaths of their lost family members and moved their clearing farther away from the mountains. In time, their heart wounds healed, and they became happy once again. They lived in peace together in their new home, remembering their lost loved ones, but looking forward to the future.
It was at this time AngelWolf (called Phoenix as a nickname, for her extraordinary ability to bounce back) met a male, NyteHowl, and decided to take him for her mate. She left the pack to start her own family. Topaz, who was very close to his older sister, decided to go with her. The pack was devastated, very sad to see them go. Not long after this, Sapphira became pregnant again. Happiness returned to their hearts as the pack joyfully anticipated the new arrivals.
Unfortunately, they never came. While walking through the forest one day, a large bear attacked Sapphira. The alpha male fought to protect his family, once again ordering his cihldren to run away. Rubyna ran north, and FirE^Wolf south with Alicorn. They could hear the sounds of the fight as they ran. Finally, they heard a loud noise (gunshot) followed by a high-pitched howl. They knew their parents were dead. They searched for days for their sister, Rubyna, but never found her. Knowing they wouldn't survive long alone, they began searching for a new home.
Fire^Wolf took care of his sister, hunting for her and protecting her. When Alicorn was six months old, she came upon the clearing of the Spirit Winds. No longer wishing to be known as Alicorn, a name which reminded her of her dreadful past, she took on a new name: SunWlf. She didn't stay long with the Spirit Winds. Just days after their arrival, while playing a game with another pup, MagicWolf, (who later became her court), `SheeWolf misunderstood their game and chased her out. SunWlf was banned from the clearing, not really understanding. A few wolves, unhappy with the way things were going at the Spirit Winds, formed the Moon Runners pack. They told SunWlf that `SheeWolf had simply been on a powertrip and asked her to join them.
SunWlf found her brother in the forest and told him all that had happened. Together, they went to the Moon Runners clearing. At the first meeting, they asked to become members. They passed their assessment and became Moon Runners. SunWlf was very happy there, once again the carefree pup she was meant to be. Her brother, Fire^Wolf, became the pack guardian. Eventually, SunWlf and MagicWolf became courts. Fire^Wolf mated OnyxPaws, who gave birth to two beautiful daughters in the spring of 98, whom they named CelticHowl and Zephyr.
Unfortunately, their relationships didn't last. OnyxPaws and Fire^Wolf went their seperate ways. OnyxPaws had a brief relationship with a wlf named StormDncr and gave birth to a pup named OnyxFrost. Fire^Wolf took a new mate, Sheila^, who was a close friend of SunWlf. MagicWolf was rarely around these days, and SunWlf began to realize she didn't want him to be her mate. She soon fell in love with another pup, called Black`Wolf, who was very kind to her.
Unfortunately, her alpha, SilverNite, and her brother, Fire^Wolf, had banished him from the clearing. SunWlf announced anyway that she wanted to court him, and her alpha gave her two choices: leave the pack or give up Black`Wolf. Deciding not to allow him to run her life for her, she left the pack. Then, sick with guilt, SunWlf left Black`Wolf as well, just days days later. She wandered alone for many weeks, banished from the home she once loved. Horrible news came to her as she traveled through the forest, of how her brother had rebelled against the alpha; his actions had chased the pack to the farther corners of the forest, and alpha SilverNite had disappeared.
SunWlf eventually came upon the clearing of the Galaxy Hunters. She soon became a member there, and alpha LunaWolf became a sister to her. Soon, the pack became just as much a home to her as the Moon Runners pack had been. She made many friends there and was very happy.
One day, while walking through the forest, she met a wolf who smelled very much like her sister, Rubyna. The wolf identified herself as NightWhisper Amarante, so SunWlf revealed her true identity. SunWlf asked NightWhisper her mother's name, and as SunWlf suspected, NightWhisper was the daughter of her sister. It saddened SunWlf to hear of her sister's death, but she was very happy to be reunited with her sister. She begged NightWhisper to join the Galaxy Hunters, but NightWhisper refused. She was still loyal to her first pack and afraid to join another would be to betray her mother and father.
A few months later, SunWlf happened upon KiowaWlf, sad with the way things were going with her mate, ShadazarWlf...formerly known as Black`Wolf. SunWlf listened to Kiowa with perked ears, feeling very sorry for her and sad to hear of Black`Wolf treating her that way. SunWlf then told Kiowa that she thought it best if she left ShadazarWlf, to find a better mate. A few days later, in the clearing of the Moon Seekers, she was greeted by a wolf who told her that Black`Wolf had died of heartbreak. Kiowa had, indeed, left him. SunWlf, heartbroken, feeling like a traitor, ran into the woods, vowing never to return. She asked NightWhisper to visit her home to tell them she had died.
NightWhisper "Nyte" Amarante is the daughter of AngelWolf "Phoenix" Amarante and her mate, NyteHowl, the alphas of the Mystic Winds pack. This was their first litter and consisted of two males and one female. They were all very happy together. NightWhisper and her brothers and sisters grew up strong, healthy, and very loved. Phoenix became pregnant again when her pups were several months old. As spring approached, NightWhisper and her brothers looked forward to having new siblings. Sadly, hunters attacked the clearing while NightWhisper and her sister NightZephyr were walking in the forest. They heard the gunshots and ran home to see what was going on, but they was too late. Poachers had already killed their parents and brothers.
NightWhisper and NightZephyr wandered together for quite a while. One morning, NightWhisper woke up to find her sister was gone. She looked but couldn't find her, so she went on alone. She wandered for many months, searching for her sister or any of her family members. She had almost given up when she met a wolf named SunWlf, who smelled much like her mother.
After hearing NightWhisper's name, SunWlf revealed herself as Alicorn Amarante and asked the name of NightWhisper's mother. They discovered that Alicorn was the sister of AngelWolf, and the two were very happy to be reunited. SunWlf invited NightWhisper to join her pack, but NightWhisper decided she'd rather not. She felt like it would be betraying her true family, so she remained lone.
One day many months later, SunWlf came to NightWhisper in tears, telling her the story of Black`Wolf. She asked NightWhisper to go to her packmates and tell them that she had died and make up some story. NightWhisper urged SunWlf not to leave but was unable to pursuade her. She at last agreed to visit the Galaxy Hunters with the message, which was very sadly received by all.
NightWhisper then took SunWlf's place in the Galaxy Hunters pack, thinking it was time for her to have a home again. LunaWolf became like a sister to her as well, and she quickly understood why SunWlf had liked her so much. BluHowl and CassiFox, Luna's adopted parents, eventually adopted NightWhisper, making it official. She fell in love with OrionWlf, and the two of them became courts. She adopted a pup named MercuryWlf as her daughter. She was very happy for a time, until problems erose.
Beta JupiterWlf left the pack for a time, and NightWhisper was made Beta in her stead. When JupiterWlf returned, she attacked NightWhisper. LunaWolf took care of her, healing the wound, and NightWhisper found it in herself to forgive JupiterWlf. She turned the position over to her, content with being a regular pack member. However, things were never the same between Jupiter and NightWhisper after that. NightWhisper felt like a stranger in her own home and eventually left with OrionWlf to form the Dream Weavers, which fell after only a few weeks.
For many months, NightWhisper wandered alone, when her mate disappeared. She visitted the Galaxy Hunters and watched sadly as the pack fell apart, until it vanished with LunaWolf. Finally she came upon the Black Rains pack. She thought of joining there, but when she discovered how arrogant the Alpha OutLawWlf (who later became a good friend to her) could be, she changed her mind.
Instead, she formed her own pack, called the Rolling Stones (which later changed their names to the Moon Runners, in honor of her good friend SunWlf's first home), which boomed for a time. While there, she made many friends, including wolf`rider, who later left the pack with his mate to start their own pack. She mated BlueMoonWolf and became pregnant. However, Sir_Frogg and GuanaWlf, Black Rains members, often challenged her ways as alpha and caused problems, repeatedly. NightWhisper didn't quite know how to handle them. Eventually, she fought Sir_Frogg, and both of them were killed. The beta of the pack changed many things after NightWhisper died, and the pack fell. (1998)
NightZephyr Amarante heard a noise one morning while her sister was sleeping. She went to investigate the sound, forever protective of her slightly smaller sister. It turned out to be nothing, but since she was awake, she decided to hunt. When she returned to where she had been sleeping with her catch, she found that NightWhisper was gone. She waited a while there, thinking perhaps she'd return. She looked for her sister for days, but was unable to find her. So, she began traveling on her own again.
She came upon an area where there were many packs. She learned that her sister NightWhisper had been there, but had died. She met many wolves who had been friends to her sister, including wolf`rider, who became a close friend to her as well. She asked twice to join the #wolfsands pack and twice changed her mind. Instead, she formed her own pack called the Night Wolves, for most of the members were quite nocturnal. The pack was very happy together, but fell far too quickly. She tried again, taking several of her former packmates with her, and formed a pack called the Silver Tears pack. Their fate was the same.
At last she was successful, when she raised the Dark Moons pack. She took Moon_Howler as her mate and loved him very much. She and her packmates lived peacefully and happily together. She changed her name to Darkmoonwolf, hoping to forget the sorrows of her past in doing so. An old wolf named Takhi`Noquisi joined the pack and became like a mother (or grandmother) to her. RedWolfie and Uqaq became like sisters to her, despite their attempts to steal her mate (*giggles*)
SilverNite then returned to the forest, whom NightZephyr knew had been Alpha of the Moon Runners, a pack that was now legend. She had heard much of him and had great respect for him as an alpha. Together, they decided to regroup the Moon Runners. However, many wolves didn't like this change and left with SilverEyes to form the Silver Nights. Moon_Howler died soon after that, and Darkmoonwolf was heart broken. She took comfort in her packmates and good friend SilverNite.
While walking through the woods one day, Darkmoonwolf met a wolf named SunWlf. SunWlf was surprised to meet anyone in the forest, as normally when she visitted her former home no one was there. Darkmoonwolf smelled familiar to SunWlf, though she was certain they had never met. Neither revealed their true identities at this first meeting, but they became good friends. A few months later, Darkmoonwolf spoke of her sister, NightWhisper, and SunWlf was glad to reveal herself as her aunt.
NightZephyr asked SunWlf to rejoin the Moon Runners, but SunWlf refused even to visit the clearing. She still felt too guilty about her past and was too used to being a lone wolf. The Moon Runners pack lasted a short time before falling once again, and Darkmoonwolf and SilverNite decided to let the past die. SunWlf remained in the area, and Darkmoonwolf continued to visit her aunt.
Hoping to salvage the family her poor decision destroyed, Darkmoonwolf joined the Silver Nights pack. SilverEyes asked her to help make changes within the pack, saying alpha ShadowdStorm wasn't doing her part. However, when Darkmoonwolf tried to do as asked, ShadowdStorm and her mate grew angry. Darkmoonwolf then left the pack. She returned and asked to join again; however, she quickly abandoned that idea, when RavenWulf accused her of breaking many rules. The pack banished her, based on his hearsay which spread throughout the pack.
Darkmoonwolf then changed her name then to Silvermoonwolf, to forget sorrows of the past and move forward into a new future. She intended to leave the forest, but her lifelong friend, wolf`rider, convinced her to stay. She changed her name yet again to Annamika, which means New Moon, and together with wolf`rider formed the Gothic Twylight pack. Within months, members began disappearing (OOC reasons), so they took what was left of their pack to the growing Night Winds pack. Unfortunately, the members began bickering amongst themselves with alpha MoOnPaW left.
Annamika and her good friend SilverNite then died in the Moon Runners clearing, after being attacked by a cougar. SunWlf heard and came to protect her neice and beloved Alpha, but was too late. She knew if she had not been hiding in the forest from the world, she would have been there in time to save her neice. She knew she had to stop running from her past if she would ever have a real life again. (2001)
After her departure, SunWlf lived alone in the forests, wandering, never staying in one place very long. When she was two years old, she met another lone wolf named ShadowFang. The two of them had pups together, but all but one died of disease. When the pup was only a few months old, a rabid cougar attacked the little family. Abiku, the pup, ran off to safety while her parents fought. ShadowFang was murdered, and SunWlf went after the cougar to make sure it didn't harm her daughter. When the cougar had passed away, SunWlf searched for Abiku but couldn't find her or detect her scent anywhere. She was forced to continue on alone.
Sometimes, she visitted the clearings she once called home quite often, always staying on the outskirts. She had very few friends. She spoke with her neice NightWhisper now and again, and she was very sad when she heard that her friend had died. Then, months later, while wandering through the forest near the old Moon Runners clearing, she met a wolf named Darkmoonwolf. She eventually found out this was NightZephyr, sister to NightWhisper. SunWlf revealed that she was her aunt, and the two became very close.
Then one day, she heard noises from within the Moon Runners clearing and came to help. Sadly, she was too late, for a cougar had already killed her her neice NightWhisper, along with the alpha she had loved. She knew if she had been there, she could have saved them...and she decided then that it was time to stop hiding, as it wasn't doing her any good. She wanted to move forward, to finish the life her friend could not, and to search for new happiness.
She decided it was time to face her past instead of running from it. She returned to the forests again and abandoned the name SunWlf to use the name her parents had given her. (Very few people know that Alicorn was once the pup called SunWlf, and she rather likes not being recognized by certain wolves.) She discovered a pack, founded by RebellionWlf and SnowWolf, under a name that she knew Annamika had come up with. Alicorn was soon made Alpha, probably to keep her from spreading the word that they had stolen someone else's idea, part of the first alpha trio. Alicorn later stepped down to serve as beta alongside her mate, StoneWolf. Feeling that RebellionWlf and SnowWolf were not fit to be alphas, the pack later asked them to step-down. Alicorn and StoneWolf became alphas then, and RebellionWlf and SnowWolf committed suicide.
Alicorn loved her mate, though they argued quite often. He was very jealous at times. Together they adopted several children: Cryos, Kamatz, Katara, and FirE^PawS. Katara reminded Alicorn much of the pup she lost years before, but her scent was different--so was her name. Alicorn chose to say nothing, not wishing to bring Katara pain by making her remember her past, in case their histories were not the same. She also didn't wish to make her mate StoneWolf jealous of her former mate. Years would pass before Alicorn would discover that Katara was indeed her beloved daughter, Abiku.
Soon their adopted children made them grandparents, and they were very proud. Several months after they became mates, Alicorn became pregnant and nine weeks later gave birth to six beautiful pups: Chalcedony, CinderPaws, Naicila, SilverStorm, Sunflare, and Anyas. She tried to be a good mother, but found that it was very hard for her to be a mother and an alpha at the same time. Sadly, Katara and FirE^PawS left the pack, and Kamatz disappeared. RedWolfie, who was like a sister to Alicorn, soon left as well, taking her pups with her.
Though the ranks within the pack changed, Alicorn remained the respected alpha. Pups were born and grew old, and the pack grew very strong. But nothing lasts forever. StoneWolf and Alicorn eventually parted ways, and he became the mate of SilverEyes at the Silver Nights pack. Chalcedony went with him. Now many other members left or disappeared, and fighting broke out within the pack. Alicorn tried, but could not hold the pack together, and finally, they disbanded.
Alicorn wandered through the woods for many years, trying to come to terms with her failure. She blamed herself for the fall and was weary of trying to fit in. She feared she was not welcome amongst the other packs and stayed away far too long. When she returned, she was greeted happily and found that... she was not so disliked after all. No longer blaming herself for her pack's fall and missing her family terribly, she sought out ShadowWlf and together they restarted the Silver Mists wolfpack.
One by one, her former packmates returned and took their places within the pack. Several family members she had never met also came to the clearing and were welcomed with open paws. New wolves found the clearing by chance and became packmates. Her children, grandchildren, neicies, and nephews all returned. Alicorn was even reunited with Zimazk, a pup she had played with as a child, and they claimed each other spirit siblings. She also grew close to a wolf named Sheyin, who became her spirit sister. Her brother, Fire^Wolf, even popped by for a visit one day, and Alicorn was excited to know that he is still alive.
Happiness never lasts forever without a visit from misfortune. Arguments broke out between CinderPaws and her mother. CinderPaws wanted to leave her mate for Strauss, and Alicorn wouldn't allow it. CinderPaws eventually left the Silver Mists. Her mate divorced her, due to her relationship with another and false accusations she had made. Even then, Alicorn refused to allow her to mate Strauss. She believed CinderPaws needed to learn the value of love, honesty, and oaths before taking a new mate. One day, while very frustrated, CinderPaws lost her footing and fell on a jagged rock in her den. Katara and Anyas tried to save her life, but couldn't. They buried her in the purple valley, where all fallen Silver Mists are taken.
Alicorn lives happily now, living with her family, leading her pack. She has found most of her family but has not lost hope of finding the rest. She is now a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and aunt to many wolves. She chose RebelWolf, brother of wolf`rider, to be her mate and looked forward to growing old alongside him, watching her daughters and their children grow up as well. Unfortunately, he disappeared, and she severed her ties to him after a long matehood in January 2006. Alicorn hopes to die at a ripe old age, elder of the pack she hopes will be her last. She still remembers those she has loved and lost, her fallen friends and family members. She knows that one day she will see them again, when her spirit leaves her body and takes to the sky. Until then, she will live her life without regret, without remorse, forever serving her pack and her family.
Topaz Amarante was happy with his sister AngelWolf in her pack, the Mystic Winds, for quite some time. One day while walking in the forest, he met a lone wolf named Ayakai TaiShi. Ayakai was born small, the runt of the litter, and never grew very large. Therefore she was always the last pup at the teet, the last wolf to eat after a hunt. This made her weak and easily fatigued, and when she turned three, the pack finally cast her out. It had become apparent that she would never be much use to the pack, and her packmates could no longer support her, as there were pups to be fed. Topaz became good friends with Ayakai, and Ayakai decided to ask to join the Mystic Winds. Angelwolf and her mate, though they liked Ayakai's personality, decided that Ayakai could not become a member. Like Ayakai's former pack, they felt she would be a burden on the pack, just another mouth to feed. Ayakai was asked to leave the territory, as there was already barely enough food for the pack to eat. Topaz had fallen in love with Ayakai by this time, and he decided to go with her, to provide and care for her, to protect her, and above all, simply to be with her.
Their first spring together, they were blessed with a litter of pups, three females and a male, Kiros. Just weeks later, while trying to bring down what seemed to be a lone doe to feed himself and his mate, he was attacked by a young buck, only about a year old. Topaz was caught by surprise as the young buck charged, and his antlers went into Topaz's side. The doe and buck quickly ran away, and Topaz bled to death. By the time Ayakai and the month-old cubs arrived, Topaz was gone. Ayakai had to raise her pups herself, which was very hard, as she was only capable of hunting very small game such as rabbits and was not even very good at that.
When the pups were just three months old, she met another lone male named Kurosai. Kurosai had been mated before, but his mate and pups were killed when his clearing was attacked by human hunters while the pack was hunting. Heartbroken, he left the pack to wander alone. A year passed by, and this was when Ayakai and Kurosai met. Kurosai, having grown very lonely during his travels, decided to stay near Ayakai to help her raise her pups, to make up for not having been able to save his own the year before. Eventually they grew to love one another, and they became mates. The pups grew up with Kurosai as their father and, though they knew their real father's name because their mother had told them, it was him they called papa.
Rikitsu left home with her brother Kiros, leaving her sisters and parents behind, to explore the world when she became an adult. During their travels, however, Kiros and Rikitsu were seperated. A rabid lioness attacked them, and in the confusion, they fled in opposite directions. They never found each other again afterwards, and Rikitsu was left to wander alone. A year passed by, and Rikitsu eventually became the Alpha female of the Arctic Shadows pack, one of her own founding.
Though she had a home, she still visitted other clearings often. Eventually, she happened upon the Silver Mists clearing. Alicorn Amarante-Tueor, Alpha female, noticed the new scent within her clearing and eventually decided to pay a visit to meet Rikitsu, the newcomer that had been visitting her home. The two introduced themselves, and after a long uncomfortable silence, spent staring at each other and pondering, they uncovered the fact that they are, indeed, related. It was thus that Rikitsu was reunited with her birth family, family she had never met, through her aunt, Alicorn.
