Kerry, 16-17 August 2003
Emilie invited me for a weekend in Kerry, it was great!!! These are the photos from Saturday, 16/08/03.
This was our hotel, 3 stars (I think) and it was very nice...:o)
I think Herve and Tullia were a bit jealous... hihihi
This guy was so funny, he passed the hotel every day. He even waved when he saw I took a picture...;o)
Wexford was playing and this guy had completely decorated his car for the occassion. Such a coincidence my Harry Potter cap matched the colors perfectly...
We were waiting for the bus for like ages... Emilie decided to get a tan in the mean time... When the bus finally came, we drove off and passed this statue somewhere. The statue of King Puck. A goat that they hang in a cage above the city every year...
Explaination of this statue... As was taken from the bus it's probably not v clear...
In Kerry fair city... Hahaha, I know it's Dublin in the song! Anyway, Molly Malone somehow ended up being my favorite Irish folk song and here I am pretending to be Molly. Slighty more dressed though. We visited a medieval city (or something similar), where we saw how ppl lived during the Irish Famine.
Sheep dye! How country can you get? Hahaha...
But we had a really nice view from the ranch though...
After the Famine Village we went to see this sheepdog which was supposed to be THE thing to see. Well, no offence, but I didn't really think it was that impressive. Maybe it was because it was extremely hot that not much happened, but I can't say I saw a lot. The guy was supposed to show us all the kinds of different sheep but he didn't do that either. Quelle disappointment...
Then we stopped at another touristy thing where we had an amazing view once more, including sheep. No, I don't mean us... Hahaha...
We stopped in a town w a tiny name for coffee. Emilie and I strolled around a bit and came across these Irish houses.
These are the sheep I meant...
Then we all went back into the bus and drove to this hill. I think it was called Victoria Hill or something relating to Queen Victoria as she visited this plc coz it was a "view fit for a queen".
I found this really nice place to sit at. It was lovely there in the sun... :o)
Well? I think it was kind of true...
After this we drove back to Kerry and Emilie and I had a picnic in the park and went to the lovely beergarten and sang along w Irish folk songs. How v touristy... But extremely much fun! :o) Too bad I didn't have my camera on me...
